Congratulations Dr. Jones!

The Arizona Pharmacy Association recently honored KRMC pharmacist Alex Jones as its 2025 Distinguished Young Pharmacist Awardee. Dr. Jones is the first in his role as KRMC's dedicated clinical pharmacist in the emergency department.

This award recognizes an Arizona pharmacist who has “demonstrated significant leadership in Arizona pharmacy in the previous year."

Dr. Linda Williams, pharmacy clinical manager, nominated Dr. Jones for the award. She wrote:

"Dr. Jones fulfills his role as a teacher and mentor with dedication. He precepts not only pharmacy students and residents, but he is also involved in the education of other health professionals.

In terms of clinical excellence and contributions, Dr. Jones has focused on prioritizing patient safety and providing high-quality patient care to ensure positive outcomes. He established KRMC's Naloxone Distribution Program with the goal of helping to identify patients at high risk for opioid overdose and sending patients home with free naloxone."

This week, we pause to honor our incredible nurses. Especially Kristen, our Care Coordinator within the Disease Management Clinic! Your strength, compassion, and tireless dedication does not go unnoticed. From holding hands during the hardest moments to celebrating life’s victories, you continue to be there every step of the way.

Thank you for all nurses being the calm in the storm, the steady hands, and the caring hearts. We see you. We appreciate you. We are endlessly grateful.

Happy anniversary to our pharmacist-led ambulatory care service, the Disease Management Clinic!

Here’s to many more years of caring for patients, providing education to pharmacist and physician learners, and improving the health of Mohave County!

Congratulations to KRMC’s Disease Management Clinic on ten years of excellent patient care! Staffed by pharmacists, the clinic provides medication management, patient education, and support services for people with chronic conditions.

In the past 10 years, DMC pharmacists have seen over 2,500 patients and worked with more than 135 providers in the community.

In 2021, the DMC launched its hepatitis C eradication initiative to address the high infection rate in Mohave County. This program provides testing, treatment, and comprehensive follow-up care for patients with hepatitis C virus. To date, 175 patients with hepatitis C have been cured.
