Key Responsibilities:
Provision of spiritual and emotional care to terminally ill patients and their families as well as grief support to the family after the death of the patient. Responsible for implementing and coordinating all activities of the Hospice spiritual services program and the delivery of spiritual services. Work with staff, clergy, and community groups to enhance sensitivity to the spiritual concerns of patients/families. Participate in patient conferences by exploring and assessing bereavement and potential spiritual needs of patients/families. Assist with bereavement care services and oversees adequacy and appropriateness of programs in conjunction with MSW. Plan, implement, and supervise group events, and, if needed, develop new bereavement programs and services. Develop educational materials for patients/families, staff, and the community on loss, grief, and coping with bereavement. Develop and maintain a resource group of clergy to whom specific aspects of spiritual care may be delegated.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification in a hospital or pastoral ministry
Licensure:
*Valid AZ Driver's License
-Current AZ Food Handlers Card
-Level one fingerprint clearance card or application required within 20 days of hire
Experience:
-Demonstrated clinical experience in areas of terminal illness, grief and loss, individual, family, and group therapy
Skills/Knowledge:
Excellent verbal and written communication. Effective interpersonal skills and creates an environment of service excellence. Ability to calmly address multiple phone and personal contacts daily. Knowledge of basic computer usage, regularly needs to bend, stoop, and reach. Ability to make outreach visits throughout the greater Kingman area.
