These activities naturally integrate sensory exploration, fine-motor development, executive functioning, and social participation while promoting independence in everyday routines. A fun activity to work on handwriting skills and executive functioning skills.

Executive functioning skills are the cognitive abilities that help you plan, organize, and manage tasks which include remembering instructions, controlling impulses, and adapting to changing situations.

This kiddo was tasked with writing the steps to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Then, his therapist made the sandwich according to his instructions. As you can see, his written instructions were lacking. However, he did an awesome job with verbal instructions as he walked the therapist through the steps on the second attempt.

It was a fun time with lots of laughs. 😊
