One of our awesome repeat customers stopped by to get ready for those long summer drives! 🔥

We matched the factory rear glass with 25% tint on the front two windows and topped it off with a 5% sun strip to help cut down on glare and keep that Florida/Georgia sun out of their eyes. 🌞🚗

Not only does it give the vehicle a cleaner, more finished look, but it also helps keep things cooler inside during these brutal summer temperatures.

This 2005 Chevy Silverado came to us after a shop in Brunswick told the customer it was just a transmission issue and assured him it would be a simple job. The customer trusted their word, had the transmission supposedly replaced, and thought everything was good to go.

The problem? On his way home from their shop in Brunswick, he lost ALL of his gears. Since January, the truck had only been driven about 5 miles because it was no longer reliable. On top of that, it developed intermittent starting issues.

The customer took it back to the original shop and was told the problem was a bad neutral safety switch. They replaced it… yet the truck still had issues.

That’s when he brought it to Chomicki Auto.

After a full inspection, we found the transmission wasn’t right. The truck had no 1st or 2nd gear, which meant it was time to tear into it and find the real problem. We performed a complete transmission rebuild the right way and addressed the starting issue by properly adjusting the neutral safety switch so it worked correctly with the factory shift cable.

The best part?

👉 So far, we’ve already driven this truck farther during our testing and verification process than the customer was able to drive it after leaving the original shop back in January.

That’s the difference between replacing parts and actually fixing the problem.

After months of grinding in the shop, turning wrenches, tinting windows, rebuilding transmissions, detailing vehicles, and taking care of our amazing customers, it’s finally time for us to take a much-needed family vacation! 🌴

📅 Chomicki Auto will be CLOSED June 14th - June 21st.

We will be spending some quality time with our family, recharging, and making memories before coming back ready to hit the ground running.

✅ We will reopen and resume normal business hours on Monday, June 22nd.

This ride came in for our standard inside & out detail with an added pet hair removal package… and let’s just say the fur was EVERYWHERE. 😅

Seats, carpet, floor mats, cracks, crevices — if there was a spot for pet hair to hide, it found it. But after some serious time, patience, and elbow grease, we got this interior looking fresh again. 🔥

This 1995 Chevy K1500 rolled into Chomicki Auto after getting a “rebuilt transmission” done somewhere else in town. The customer was originally told they needed to install a brand new transmission… so they spent the money, got it installed, and once everything started failing shortly after — the previous guy completely ghosted them. 🚩

No answers. No help. No accountability.

Customer thought they only needed:
✔️ Shifter cable
✔️ Exhaust work
✔️ Dash lights

But once we started tearing into it, we found the REAL problem. 👀

The previous “rebuild” was done completely wrong. Corners cut. Problems ignored. Parts improperly installed. The transmission never stood a chance.

So we ripped it back apart and rebuilt it THE RIGHT WAY. No shortcuts. No guessing. No bandaid fixes. 💪

While it was here we also knocked out:
🔥 Full transmission rebuild done correctly
🔥 New shifter cable
🔥 Oil pan gasket replacement
🔥 Rear main seal replacement
🔥 New exhaust work
🔥 Dash light repair
🔥 New headlight housings
🔥 Front brush guard install

Most importantly — we stayed in communication with the customer through the ENTIRE process. Updates, pictures, honesty, and transparency every step of the way. That’s how business SHOULD be done. 🤝

Now this old K1500 is back on the road running like it’s supposed to. 🛠️

Sometimes being “cheap” isn’t always the best option. A low price means nothing if the work fails and the person disappears when problems show up. Quality work and standing behind what you do matters.

Customer brought in the wrong parts for the setup he wanted, but instead of sending him away, we got creative and made it happen. That’s the difference when you bring your ride to a shop that actually knows fabrication and exhaust work. 💪
