Meet Your Future Therapist!

Jacob McGlamery, MS, LPC-MHSP is a two-time graduate of Milligan University. He currently has a master of science degree in clinical mental health counseling and a bachelor of science in psychology. He has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with all ages and with concerns including anxiety, anger management, attachment issues, depression, addictions, grief, and others. Jacob is also trained in the Gottman method of marital counseling and is specializes in providing education and support for those who struggle with the overuse or misuse of media technology (social media, video games, television, etc.).

Jacob utilizes research-based and spiritually-informed interventions in order to provide clients with methods of support tailored to individual needs.

Spiritual Statement: The passage in the twelfth chapter of Romans best sums up my beliefs in counseling.

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position…”

Counseling is a way that I can give others a place to be heard and to feel that there is at least one other person in the world who is willing to walk alongside them in the darkest parts of the human experience.

Meet Your Future Therapist!

Lisa Buchanan is a counseling resident. She completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling at Milligan University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master’s Degree and PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University. Lisa provides therapy to couples and individuals, including leaders in ministry, using an integrative, strengths-based approach.

Spiritual Statement: I believe that God values each one of us as his beloved child and longs to grant us wholeness, freedom, insight, and joy in Christ. I believe that God has a life of purpose and meaning for each person and I love being able to journey alongside those who wish to heal and grow.

Dr. Beth Kitzmiller is the founder and owner of Seed of Hope Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with designation as a Mental Health Service Provider, and a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. She is an AAMFT approved Supervisor for license seeking therapists as well as an approved supervisor for LPC-MHSP designation. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and American Association for Christian Counselors (AACC).

Beth has twenty years of experience working with individuals of all age groups, couples, and families dealing with areas of marital discord, anxiety, anger management, depression, grief, stress, spiritual concerns, and other issues. She has a passion for working with women and couples who are struggling with miscarriage and infertility and the hurts that come from this loss. She is certified in PREPARE/ENRICH premarital and marriage enrichment counseling and loves working with couples.

She holds a B.A. in Accounting from Georgia State University, a Master of Divinity in Psychology and Counseling, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling, a Master of Theology and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology and Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Also, Beth is a provider for BCBS and Cigna.

SPIRITUAL STATEMENT
I believe God called me to the counseling profession. He has led me in this journey to help people as they walk the path to healing life’s challenges and hurts. I am passionate about training therapists to provide sound clinical counseling and integrate faith within the guidelines of our code of ethics. I would be honored to be a part of your journey of healing and growth.

One of my favorite passages is Psalm 139:13-14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” God created all of us with a plan and purpose.
