"For the veteran, thank you for bravely doing what you're called to do so we can safely do what we're free to do."
We honored our veterans with a celebration ceremony, and each vet received their award with afternoon snacks as well. We appreciate them choosing Crown Cypress to be their home.

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
In late October, we headed out to Norton, VA. for a scenic van ride to check out the leaves. We had a wonderful trip with wonderful memories!

John says “November is a time of drama, contrast, and extremes. Day to day, all we know for certain is that change is coming ... light to dark, warm to cold ... and that we must prepare for those changes. In my painting ‘Gathering’, the evening chill gathers strength across the land. In turn, the farm wife steps outside to gather firewood to ward off that growing chill. As the old expression goes - ‘a woman’s work is never done’. Even at the end of the day, this hard-working woman gives careful attention to detail, even in the selection of firewood.

There are times when we must gather our inner resources to comfort us against life’s challenges. It’s such a good feeling to have reliable resources to draw upon, as needed. This week (and always), plan ahead — you’ll be glad you did!”
