đ Have you ever felt stuck in a pattern you know isnât helping â but no matter how hard you try, it just keeps showing up?
Maybe youâve read the books.
Tried to think differently.
Told yourself to push harder, be stronger, or use more willpower.
But the same patterns return. And itâs exhausting.
Hereâs the truth:
Youâre not broken.
Youâre not lazy.
You donât need more discipline.
In Internal Family Systems (IFS), we flip the script:
What if that part of you thatâs sabotaging, numbing, overworking, or withdrawing... isnât your enemy?
What if that part is trying to protect you â in the only way it knows how?
IFS invites us to build a relationship with our parts â even the ones weâve spent years trying to silence or escape.
With compassion and curiosity, we explore:
Where did this part come from?
What is it afraid of?
What does it need?
Can I help it trust me again?
When we stop fighting against ourselves, something shifts.
We make space for healing.
We make space for our Self â the calm, clear, wise part of us â to lead.
đż Try This IFS-Based Reflection:
Pause.
Close your eyes if that feels okay. Take a few slow, gentle breaths and connect inward.
Notice.
What part of you feels most present right now? Maybe itâs overwhelmed, avoidant, perfectionistic, critical⌠or even calm.
Get curious.
Ask that part:
âWhat are you trying to do for me right now?â
âWhat are you afraid would happen if you stopped?â
Listen.
You donât need to fix anything â just witness. That alone is powerful.
⨠I use IFS in my work with clients because I believe lasting change happens not through force, but through understanding, trust, and inner connection. If this resonates, reach out now to schedule a free consultation to explore how IFS could be the approach you have been searching for.Â
