🇺🇸 An honor and privilege to be a part of finally bringing one of our military home 🇺🇸

After 75 years as missing in action, CPL George Hagie is finally coming home. George was killed in action during the Korean War at the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. He served with the Company K, 3rd Battalion, Infantry, 7th Division. Through the dedicated and painstaking efforts of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and utilizing advanced DNA analysis, CPL Hagie's remains were identified in 2025.

Born in Kingsport, he was the son of Eula and Raymond Hagie. He had 3 brothers, Howard, Edward, and Doug; one sister, Mildred; and a nephew Danny Doran, who are all deceased. Surviving George are his nieces, Elizabeth Ann Messimer and Laura Jan Jones; and several grand nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery (located at 53 Memorial Ave, Johnson City, TN, 37684) on May 1st, 2026 at 2:00 PM.

You are invited to help us celebrate the homecoming of our local hero, CPL Hagie.

East Lawn Funeral Home is honored to care for CPL George Hagie's family at this time and be of assistance in the return of a true hero to his home.
