We had a fun time with a bbq , family, and friends. We had lunch while we watched the Vols beat Auburn.

This morning at our Friday rhythmic drumming exercise class, we had a very special surprise for our residents during cool down. A brand-new song, written all about Asbury Place, was debuted for the very first time. The song was created by Paul and Heather Christie, friends of resident Iain McFarlane, after they joined us for several activities and outings for the week. They left feeling inspired by the warmth of our community, and their heartfelt song was the perfect way to close today’s class.

What a meaningful gift for our residents and a beautiful reminder of the spirit of Asbury Place!

Yesterday evening was such a treat at Asbury Place Kingsport! Resident Jack Mahaffey shared part two of his monthly history presentation, this time diving deeper into the life of Mark Twain. Afterwards, we enjoyed a lively social hour with delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by our dining team, and the evening was topped off with music from one of our very own residents, Grady Church, and his band. A wonderful night of learning, good food, and great company

Birthdays are a big deal here! We love celebrating our residents with a special party each month. Over the weekend we sang “Happy Birthday” and enjoyed cake with our August birthday stars 🎂🎉 Join us in wishing them many happy returns!

Yesterday we brought the islands to our residents with a vibrant Hawaiian Luau featuring live tropical music by Dan Perkins, festive foods prepared by our talented dining team, and plenty of laughter and smiles. 🌴🍍

🌺 Living Colorfully at Asbury Place Kingsport! 🌺

One of the many perks of living at Asbury Place Kingsport is having The Waters of Kingsport right next door. Our residents can receive top-notch therapy and care when they need it most—so they can return home happy, healthy, and independent!

We are thrilled to celebrate David Petke’s success story after his rehabilitation stay at The Waters. His journey is a true testament to the skill and compassion of their incredible therapy team, and we are so grateful for all they do for our residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.

We are also truly grateful for our partnership with The Waters and all they do to help our residents return home with confidence and a smile!

It’s a Saturday !

In Mr. Petke’s own words he shared the below about his recent rehabilitation stay at The Waters of Kingsport:

“How does one measure the satisfaction and results of physical and occupational therapy?
From my experience, it’s in the improvement of the patient’s abilities and the journey back to independence.

Before coming to The Waters for therapy, I had stayed at two other therapy facilities after a sepsis attack left me with severe mobility issues. Unfortunately, I saw only limited improvement there. But at The Waters, things were different. I received daily, individualized physical and occupational therapy, rather than just group sessions or therapy two to three times a week.

What truly made the difference was the therapists themselves — they were not only compassionate and caring, but also knew how to challenge me and keep me motivated. Because of this, I could see steady progress toward my goal: regaining enough mobility to return home.

I am home now. While I still use a walker and a wheelchair when I’m outside my apartment, I can manage my daily activities on my own — something that once felt impossible.

I am truly grateful and would gladly recommend the physical and occupational therapists at The Waters to anyone in need of dedicated, personalized rehabilitation care.“
