Established in 1989, we have been the retirement living choice for Tri-Cities seniors for 35 years. 🎠 How Did Kingsport Get a Carousel? 🎠

Join us at Asbury Place Kingsport on Friday, February 20 at 11 AM in the Great Room for a special presentation by our very own resident, Valerie Joh!

Valerie will be sharing the incredible story of how a dream, a community of volunteers, and a bit of serendipity brought the Kingsport Carousel to life. As the widow of the man who first envisioned the project, Valerie learned to carve carousel animals herself—and spent over 5½ years doing just that!

Valerie is a Kingsport native, Dobyns-Bennett High School graduate, and former owner of Blue Ridge Properties. She has served as an alderman on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and has been active in shaping the community she loves.

This is a story about passion, purpose, and community spirit. You don’t want to miss it!

We gathered for an extra-special social hour as we prepare for the winter weather ahead ❄️ With lunch bunch canceled this weekend, we made sure to enjoy a big spread of hot appetizers, mimosas, and wine to stay cozy together. Wishing everyone a warm, safe weekend from all of us at Asbury Place 🤍

We kicked off our Eastman Retirees Meeting for the year today, and it was a wonderful afternoon of memories and connection!

This group meets every fourth Thursday at 2:00 PM at our clubhouse and is open to retired Eastman career employees, as well as current residents who were involved with Eastman Kodak, their colleagues, and spouses. It’s a time to gather, reminisce, and enjoy great conversation—plus refreshments!

Today, resident Jack Mahaffey generously shared several incredible artifacts, including newspapers, magazine articles, and photographs dating all the way back to 1961. These pieces sparked meaningful discussion and brought back so many great memories.

🥞🍓 Brunch Day at Asbury Place! 🍓🥞

Every 3rd Saturday of the month, our residents enjoy a special brunch — and many love sharing it with family and friends! Today’s spread had a little something for everyone, from Southern favorites like biscuits & gravy and hashbrown casserole, to bacon, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, and more.

We’re especially excited about our new hot bar, which gives our dining team even more flexibility to offer variety at every meal. Today’s highlights included French toast casseroles (yes, even blackberry & brie! 😍) and Belgian waffles with warm fruit toppings.

🎉 Happy New Year from Independent Living! 🎉

What a blast we had at our confetti-filled New Year’s Eve party at Asbury Place Kingsport’s Independent Living community! Residents enjoyed live music and dancing, delicious food prepared by our amazing dining staff, and of course, champagne to toast the New Year.
Our community rang in 2026 with a fabulous celebration, complete with a ball drop. Wishing all of our residents and their families a Happy New Year!

We were so blessed to enjoy performances from the First Broad Street Singers and the Boys & Girls Club. A special thank you to resident David Petke and our many resident volunteers who led our annual Christmas train table at Asbury Place—bringing joy to residents, team members, families, and visitors all season long. ❤️🚂

Today we are celebrating a truly remarkable milestone as one of our wonderful Independent Living residents turns 103 years young! 💐

She was surprised with a beautiful flower delivery, and we couldn’t be more honored to celebrate such a special day. Please join us in wishing her the happiest of birthdays and many warm wishes, smiles, and memories.
