Join us alongside Scituate Facts for our annual overdose vigil at the Scituate Light House to mourn the loved ones that we have lost to overdose. August 31st from 5:30AM-6:15AM.

This Sunday, August 31st, is recognized as International Overdose Awareness Day, the world's largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those who have lost their lives to an overdose, acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind, and renew our commitment to end overdose and related harms.

Since 2016 for our community, we remember the 9 lives that were lost in a fatal overdose event, we are mindful of the 31 non-fatal overdoes that have affected lives in our community, and we are grateful for our first responders that have successfully deployed Narcan 26 times.

The Marion Police Department is proud to be part of PCO - Plymouth County Outreach, a multi-faceted collaboration of the 27 municipal police departments in Plymouth County, as well as Bridgewater State University Police Department, working together with Recovery Coaches and community organizations to make treatment, resources, and harm reduction tools more accessible to people who use drugs and their loved ones. The goal is to provide compassionate, judgment-free support while reducing overdose fatalities.
