Last week our beloved Miss Carol (Miss Hilary’s mom) passed away. She was such a bright light in this world and already is so beyond missed. Thank you for your grace and understanding in a pause of events while we grieve this monumental loss.

“Big Night” refers to the first rainy night in the spring in the North East. Amphibians such as salamanders and frogs emerge from their winter homes and migrate back down to vernal pools for breeding. Although the most activity occurs on the very first rainy night above 40 degrees you can still spot activity for the first few rainy warm nights that follow. It’s important to remember to drive more cautiously during these nights. Often, there are volunteers who help these creatures cross roadways safely in areas that have well known crossings. How cool is that?!

This month marked one full year of book club! If you joined along on this journey I would love to hear which book was your favorite. Even if you were only able to read 1/12 I would love to hear your thoughts on that month’s book. It was really fun to go into most of these books blind with you all. Happy to report I would recommend most of this list!

After a long winter- Spring has sprung! (Just ignore tomorrow’s chilly forecast). It was so wonderful to see everyone🫶🏻 Today we planted seeds for what we want for our futures.

Speaking of “The Future”… This group of kids are so creative, kind and helpful. Always making sure to help one another with their projects and help cleaning up without needing to be asked. Makes me excited to see what they all accomplish in the years to come.

We often hear the term “be mindful” but there’s little direction on what that is or how we get there. This book guides readers on how they themselves can become more mindful. It gives step by step instructions and exercises to practice. Being more mindful is a powerful tool all caregivers should keep in their back pocket!

What a winter we’re having! I’ve trying to get a meet up on the books for about a month. Unfortunately a blizzard has showed up to derail my attempts each time! Maybe it’s Mother Nature’s way of saying to slow down. Missing you all and hope to see you before spring!🫶🏻❄️

Hope everyone is having fun and staying safe during this winter storm! What are you facilitating for your littles inside and outdoors to stay busy? Some of my favorite outside activities include: sledding, fort making, snow painting, and snowman building. Inside: snow sensory boxes, arts and crafts, reading, blanket forts, and baking.

🧊🧚🏼‍♀️🪵What a great winter meetup! We played with ice, made fairy houses, collected lots of sticks and played hide and seek. 🪺We enjoyed learning about birds nests with these lovely nests donated by a community member (Thank You Liz!).
