The April 12 deadline apply to become a Pre-Health Ambassador is rapidly approaching! ⏰

Pre-Health Ambassadors are volunteer leaders within the community of students at URI interested in health careers that have the baccalaureate degree as a requirement for admission. Ambassadors serve as mentors and role models by sharing their experience and tips for success with fellow pre-health students. They work closely with the pre-health professions advisors to provide information to students across campus about resources, admission processes, academic options, and experiential opportunities.

The Workforce Solutions, Training, and Teamwork (STAT) Phlebotomy Program features a series of free, educational training and support services for those ages 18 and older. This program prepares its participants with the education and hands-on learning necessary to perform the duties to be phlebotomists at Lifespan. The goal of the program is to meet industry needs by rapidly transforming a group of unemployed and underemployed entry-level Rhode Islanders into prepared, well-qualified healthcare professionals.

Program graduates will have opportunities to secure employment at Lifespan after program completion and have access to a variety of benefits. Employment at Lifespan may allow you to advance over time to higher levels of education and employment in the high-demand healthcare industry.

If you’re hired and start before you graduate, you will have a part time schedule while you train. Once you graduate, you can transition to a full-time.
