SMAC Students for a More Accessible Campus- Composed of both disabled and able-bodied students, SMAC, Students for a More Accessible Campus, is a student organized group that raises awareness of the difficulties that disabled students face daily on a college campus. Founded by Krista Simeone in 2008, SMAC purpose is to both raise this awareness of the need for a more accessible campus but also to raise money for Disability Services at the University of Rhode Island. Through their efforts of raising awareness, SMAC believes that the university campus will become a safer and more accessible environment for those with varying abilities.
