One Light Holistic Healing Finding balance in an ever changing world… Hello there. My name is Laura Edelman. I am a holistic teacher and practitioner.

Having a background in massage therapy, I have a vast knowledge of how the human body functions and moves. However, I was always fascinated by the part of us that we cannot see. I am a firm believer that disease and afflictions of our physical body begin in our energy field. After experiencing energy work firsthand in healing myself, I realized that this is how I want to help others. My greatest joy in this work is seeing people realize that they play a major role in their own healing. My intention is to give people the tools and the inner wisdom to feel balanced and whole again. The day I found Reiki and experienced the universal life force at another level, was the day my life changed. I knew at that moment that I am here on this earth to share and teach this simple and highly effective healing modality.

A new offering has been blooming quietly behind the scenes, and today my heart wants to share a little bit of the why.

Laughing Lotus Creations was born from a muddy mix of healing, humor and ancestral love.

My grandmother on my father’s side was a very funny lady. Good at tennis too! When my Grammy was preparing to leave this world, she left me and my brother with four final words:
“Always leave them laughing.”

Fast forward 20+ years, when the lotus flower first came to me during a shamanic journey to the lower world, where I sought guidance from my ancestors on how to heal our family lineage. I was shown by my Grammy that the Lotus was the stepping stone to healing our lineage. Like the Lotus, we also grow from the muck and healing doesn’t always look pretty.

That’s when it clicked…the lotus and the laughter. Both are medicine. Both are necessary.

This brand is an offering…a blend of sacred and silly, Earth and stardust, grief and giggles. Because life is messy, healing is weird, and blooming through it all is an act of beauty, bravery and occasionally… ridiculousness.

I’ve been very quiet lately. Especially these last couple of days with a doozy of a case of laryngitis. I don’t think anyone in my family has minded too much and boy did I get a lot of writing done.

There has been a lot of birthing and conceptualizing of ideas here lately. Well..for the past 6 months or so. There’s a lot a brewing over here. And I’m excited to share with you…when the time is right!

It’s been coming up over and over this week, in sessions, in conversations, in the quiet moments when people finally exhale and say, “I don’t know why this keeps resurfacing.” And every time, my heart whispers the same truth:

Shadow work isn’t optional. It’s essential.

We all carry parts of ourselves that were buried, shamed, ignored, or pushed aside because we had to keep going. Those shadows aren’t “bad.” They’re simply the pieces of us that never felt safe enough to be seen.

When we avoid them, they rule us.
When we meet them, they free us.

Shadow work is the gentle but honest act of turning toward the places that hurt, with compassion, curiosity and zero judgment. It’s where true healing happens. It’s where old patterns crack open. It’s where we remember our power, our innocence, our wholeness.

Your shadow is not something to fix. It’s something to welcome home.

And the wildest part?
Once you stop running from it, it stops chasing you.
It becomes an ally. A guide. A doorway into your own depth.

So if something keeps resurfacing… if an old wound feels loud again… if you feel like you’re circling back to a pattern you thought you’d outgrown, you’re not failing. You’re being invited.

This is the work.
This is the becoming.
This is you reclaiming yourself.
