We had a wonderful visit last week! 💙

Our CEO Lynn Brown and Business Development Representative Kate Favata recently spent time with the amazing team at the Northeast Regional Crisis Stabilization Center in Honesdale, Pa.

We had the chance to share more about Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health, learn about their incredible services, and tour their beautiful new facility. It was a great opportunity to connect, collaborate, and talk about how we can continue working together to better serve our communities.

This 24/7, 8-bed facility provides such an important safety net for individuals in crisis—offering flexible stays and round-the-clock phone and mobile crisis support for all ages.

A huge thank you to Center for Community Resources and partners at the Wayne County Office of Behavioral and Development Programs & Early Intervention and Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Health and Development Services for making this resource possible.

And special thanks to Victoria, Sarah, Josh, and the entire team for the meaningful work you do every day—you are truly making a difference! 🙌

Great things happen when providers come together for the community! 🧠💙

We could not have picked a more beautiful day to come out to Mahanoy City. We want to thank Jimaine Oidtman and the team at STR Behavioral Health - Silver Pines in Mahanoy City, Pa. for hosting our Business Development Representative Kate Favata. Kate enjoyed touring the facility and appreciated the chance to present on Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health and was happy to learn more about Silver Pines. We are excited to explore ways to work together to support those on their mental health and recovery journey.

From Vision to Reality: Investing in the Future of Behavioral Health 🏥✨
Almost two years ago, our CEO, Lynn Brown, shared a vision for Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health to become a teaching and training site supporting the next generation of behavioral health professionals.
Today, we are proud to see that vision come alive. Pictured are Adjunct Faculty member Renee Eustice and our Director of Nursing Joan Toohey with current students from Jersey College after being on site for their clinical rotation at Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health-we are so happy to have you with us. We are also proud to share that our CEO, Lynn Brown, has been invited to serve on the Jersey College Occupational Advisory Committee for the 2025–2026 year.
Over the past two years, Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health has partnered with nearly a dozen colleges and universities, including Jersey College, Wilkes University, King’s College, University of Scranton, and Marywood University, providing internship opportunities for students pursuing careers in social work, nursing, psychiatry, and medical field. These partnerships allow students to gain meaningful, real-world experience by contributing to the important work happening inside our hospital every day.
We are grateful to our academic partners and the many students who continue to learn and grow with our team.

What an amazing night at Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health! 🐾❤️

We were so excited to finally welcome the Doodle Duo for a visit with our patients. A massive thank you to Amanda and Kim for bringing these gentle giants to see us—it was everything we hoped for and more!

Offering pet therapy has been a goal of ours for a while, and seeing the impact firsthand was incredible. We know from sources like UCLA Health and other research hospitals that time with animals releases oxytocin and serotonin—helping us relax and lower blood pressure. The ACLU also notes how animal-assisted therapy (AAT) can reduce anxiety.

Our patients loved spending time with them as did our CEO Lynn Brown and our B.D. Rep Kate Favata.

Our patients are already asking when the Doodle Duo can come back.🐶💙

We had an amazing time last week at the Barberlife Barbershop in Wilkes-Barre! 🏽✂️

In partnership with Pyramid Healthcare, we hosted a Community Resource Pop-Up to do something simple but important: sit down with our neighbors, offer coffee, donuts, resources and talk about mental health and substance use. It was incredible to connect with so many in our community.

Special thanks to Donnie the Barber for opening his doors and caring so deeply about our community. We also want to shout out CCBH Northeast and NBHCC for coming out to support the cause. When we show up for each other, great things happen.

Last week, we had the privilege of being a gold sponsor at the 5th Annual Galentines Networking Event at the Blair County Convention Center. With over 200 attendees, we connected with folks from all over PA to discuss the importance of Behavioral Health.

A huge shoutout to Brandi from White Deer Run for flawlessly organizing this massive event year after year. It keeps getting better!

We had a great time last week at the Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast Outpatient Open House!

More local outpatient options mean better access, flexibility, and quality of care for our community. When we work together, we ensure that those struggling get the support they need! 🙌

Did you know Hepatitis C is highly curable? New medications can cure Hep C in as little as 8–12 weeks with just a few pills a day. Even better, Pennsylvania has removed many of the barriers that once made treatment difficult, making access easier than ever before.

On Friday night, our Business Development Representative, Kate Favata had the pleasure of representing Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health and learning more about how our community is coming together to cure Hepatitis C, especially for individuals in the substance use and behavioral health population. It was inspiring to see so many passionate professionals committed to collaboration and patient-centered care.

Dr Orlando Penaloza from Lehigh Valley Health Network continues to be an incredible champion for Hepatitis C treatment, and it was a privilege to learn from his leadership. It was also a great opportunity to connect with other organizations dedicated to supporting marginalized individuals affected by Hepatitis C.

Grateful to be part of such meaningful work 💙

Braving the storm to keep us safe. 🙏
While many of us stayed home today, our healthcare workers answered the call. Thank you to the dedicated teams who worked through the snow, stayed overnight, and put patient care first. Your commitment keeps our community safe and our healthcare facilities and hospitals running.
