Mid-Hudson Family Medicine Residency

We are a passionate group of individuals who want to provide our community high quality primary care.

The program was sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute, a health center network, from 1981 through 2007. In 2007, the Institute for Family Health assumed operation of the six health centers in the network and sponsorship of the Mid-Hudson residency program. The program was awarded federal funding to become one of the first Teaching Health Centers in the country. The funding allowed the residency program to expand from 18 to 30 residents beginning in 2011.

Our communities can't do it without us and we can't do it without advocacy.

Our annual Sports Medicine Workshop - care of the collapsed athlete, head and neck injuries, ultrasound stations, injection stations, SAM/splinting stations, concussion eval and more! Our largest to date and a chance to collaborate with our sister IFH programs and our neighbor program at Northwell.

Research Day with all of the IFH Residencies is an annual tradition - a chance to talk about what we’ve all been doing across our residencies and the impact it has on our communities and patients.

Followed by the Annual Research Innovation and Symposium where ALL employees, across every department, have the opportunity to discuss and present the changes, quality improvement and research they have brought into their roles, to improve our care.

Each year we seem to have more submissions than the previous year, highlighting our passion to not stay stagnant but continue to evolve with the needs of our communities and step out of our comfort zones. Congratulations to all who participated, presented and won awards - special congratulations to the Mid-Hudson residents who swept the resident-led award categories! It’s a high bar set for the residents to follow but we have faith!
