PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, City of Kingston Police Department, Town of Ulster Police Department, City of Kingston Fire Department, and Ulster Hose Fire Department are actively operating at a water emergency scene on the Esopus Creek in the vicinity of Washington Avenue.

Law enforcement is requesting the public’s assistance. If you have a family member or know of anyone who may have been in the area of the Esopus Creek and is overdue in returning home, please contact the police immediately.

Members of the public are urged to avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to safely and efficiently conduct their operations.

It was an honor to attend Wreaths Across America at the New Paltz Rural Cemetery, a location that also holds special significance as the place where the DEP releases a rehabilitated hawk back into the wild each year. Supporting those who served our great nation and safeguarded the freedoms of future generations, it was truly a privilege to honor their sacrifice and lay a wreath in remembrance.
