🖤 A quick note to help you understand how I work best during your session.
I want to share something a little more personal today—something that will ultimately help me give you the best possible work on the table.
Years ago I was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, now categorized as an autism spectrum disorder. This means I have intense, focused interests (like lepidopterology 🦋) and that I naturally excel in repetition-based work—like massage therapy.
It also means I socialize a bit differently, and I have a smaller capacity for social interaction than most.
During your session, my mind works best in a quiet “flow state.” When I’m able to stay fully focused, the work becomes more intuitive, precise, and effective. Conversation, while always well-intentioned, can pull me out of that zone and affect the quality of your treatment.
I also want to acknowledge something called “social masking”—where I mirror others to create a smooth interaction. While I can do this well, it comes at a real mental cost.
I understand some clients genuinely enjoy conversation, and I truly appreciate that. This isn’t about disconnecting—it’s about making sure you’re getting the highest level of care I can provide.
Moving forward, I kindly ask that we keep idle conversation/small talk in the massage room to a minimum. so I can stay fully present in my work. Of course, if you need anything at all—more or less pressure, temperature adjustments, or anything to improve your experience—please always speak up.
Thank you for your understanding, your trust, and for allowing me to continue doing what I love in a way that supports both your results and my well-being.
