TO+NIGHT on the O+ Radio Hour at 8pm on Radio Kingston: Host Jesse Scherer will spend time with Dr. Maggie Carpenter and Elise Lark, PhD, LCSW, APHSW-C.
Maggie is a family doctor with over 20 years of experience and many interests, specializing in reproductive health as well as palliative care. She completed her family practice residency at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. Hudson Valley Hospice was proud to announce that Dr. Maggie Carpenter, HMDC, formally one of Hudson Valley Hospice’s physicians, was recently granted the Hospice Medical Director Certified credential by the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board. Dr. Carpenter was recognized for her commitment to improving the quality of life by displaying professional competency in the hospice industry.
Elise Lark is the visionary founder of Circle of Friends for the Dying. Her passion for this project was ignited by her work as a clinical social worker at the HealthAlliance Hospital Oncology Support Program, and furthered as a member of the Palliative Care Team. These experiences led her to recognize the need for alternative end-of-life care settings in our community. Working in both the hospital and its Cancer Support House has allowed her to observe how setting influences the quality of care and relationships within, and the natural sense of ease elicited by a home environment.
We will also hear music from Sonny Singh, Mirah, Shayna Blass and Joey Eppard. Tune in live locally on AM1490, 107.9FM or stream at radiokingston.org.
