In-hand manipulation is a fine motor task we all complete daily! From opening the toothpaste lid to adjusting a pen or pencil within the hand...these are tasks you probably do without a second thought!

But for those with dexterity, coordination, strength, mobility, tone, or range of motion challenges, these simple tasks can be a real challenge.
Some fine motor activities to practice these skills:

👉Roll play dough into small balls using only the fingertips
👉Tear newspaper into strips, crumble it, and stuff an art project
👉Use tweezers to pick up small items. This works on the intrinsic muscles of the hands.
👉Lacing activities
👉Eye Droppers to drop water into recycled lids
👉Coin or button matching, sorting, and stacking
👉Small beads or cut pieces of straw-press them into play dough and tuck extra beads/straws into the palm of the hand.

Please keep one of our sweet families in your prayers as everyone celebrates Thanksgiving tomorrow. One of our sweet boys lost his mother this week unexpectedly and it has been a huge loss to our little family and community. Hold your families a little tighter and tell them how much they mean to you. We all love each and every one of you and hope you enjoy your time with friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving from our families to yours. 🦃🍁🧡💛
