Angel Gowns by Baba, Inc.

We make & donate burial gowns, etc. for miscarried, stillborn babies, to hospitals & all in need. Those are permanent fixtures in hospitals.

We are a 501(c)3 Tax ID # 83-1601492
Using donated wedding gowns and other materials we make and donate burial gowns for miscarried, stillborn and babies who pass on soon after birth. Most of what we donate is shipped, where a lot of our expense lies. We also crochet various items as accessories, blankets, hats, tiny cradles to hold babies too small for Angel Gowns, etc. and make basket cribs of various sizes that are elaborately decorated for hospital use to photograph the babies before they are taken for burial. We have a large team of volunteers across the USA who work constantly to keep the supplies on hand to fill orders globally. We donate them regularly to local and national hospitals, hospices, funeral homes and individuals. We have donated thousands of Angel Gown kits to date and have filled many emergency orders for parents whose hospital didn’t have our services yet. Twice a year we also volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center for their Memorial Services for babies lost and visit churches and other organizations with our displays to promote our non-profit ministry. We created a youtube video tutorial to help others learn our craft globally. It has resulted in many more volunteers to help in this daunting task. Everything we make is donated and none of us are paid for our work, not even the President of this organization, Anita Schatz, who is on duty 24/7 for emergency orders. Today we met with the founders of The Sea of Hope Foundation. They are a local non-profit that helps local Maryland families who have suffered from Infancy and pregnancy loss. We will help supply items and Angel Gowns to help local hospitals with their bereavement boxes donations. 🪽 🕯

Yes, I am still alive in Kingsville Maryland and Angel Gowns by Baba, Inc. continues our work. I got a phone call from a nurse last night who said the word was out that I had died and she wanted to confirm that I was alive. Her hospital was concerned about getting more Angel Gowns from us. She was relieved once she heard my voice and we had a good laugh together. How do things like that get started?

Now on to more important things. I have another Angel Gowns by Baba, Inc. order to fill for that hospital. Blessed Mother, thank you for keeping your ministry going through me.

Years ago, the SOTU address by the President after I met him and gave him my angel gown business card, was when he introduced a woman who experienced an early miscarriage where her baby was saved and said he wanted to work on preventing future miscarriages and stillbirths. Maybe this is a result. No matter how this came about, I feel my prayers are being answered.

A National Institutes of Health report decried stillbirths as a “major public health concern” and said the nation needed to do more to address the problem through research and prevention.

As the grandmother (Baba) of a miscarried baby, I know the pain and heartache that my son and his wife went through with us at the time. There was no mention of an angel gown I still don’t know if it was a boy or girl that they lost. I know we’ll find out when we meet our little angel baby in heaven one day.

I’m hoping that my ministry will help grieving parents in some small way during their time of great loss by providing beautiful Angel Gowns, Cradles, and other Accessories for their babies taken from them before they even got to smile at each other.

When I initially felt the call to start this ministry, I called out to Mary, the Blessed Mother of God to send me an army and all the materials needed if this was something she wanted me to do for Jesus’s little babies and their parents. Since then, women, men and children world-wide are answering her call to this ministry through the Blessed Mother to either help me here or start an angel gown ministry in their own towns.

My prayer is that this ministry of Angel Gowns spreads through every City and Town of every Nation so that it touches every grieving parent who loses a baby.

God bless all who answer the call to serve in this army of volunteers, whether it be those who donate to it or work it. We are all called to be part of this in one way or another. Remember, it’s a baby, not a fetus, no matter how small and deserves all the respect of any person in the burial process.

Watch my 15 min+ tutorial above that you can stop & rewind until you get it. The one part you will want to rewind to until you get it right is at 5:23. It’s the trickiest part. Keep that time in mind to help you to rewind to the exact spot again, using 1/4 inch seams throughout the entire gown. Be sure to practice with scrap materials before using good fabric and use these patterns. Make sure when printing out the 7 Pine Patterns to get the 2” square exactly that size so the patterns are the correct sizes. You may need to go to your printer settings to adjust it before printing them out, then make 4 copies of the printout. (THESE PATTERNS and the ANGEL GOWNS YOU MAKE ARE TO BE OFFERED FOR FREE AND SHOULD NEVER BE SOLD. )
