9 years (and a few days) ago, I opened the doors to my practice, very practically named Baltimore Family Therapy (BFT to give it an edge 😆). Never could I have imagined that it would have grown to be what it’s become. I often joke that we have a guardian angel watching, sprinkling good-luck dust on us every flip and turn of the way. I’m so so grateful. I’m grateful for our 5 ⭐️ reputation. I’m grateful for our gorgeous offices that provide an environment reflecting comfort and solace to clients that sometimes just need a place to breathe. I’m grateful for those clients that let us into the corners of their mind and share their lives with us. I’m grateful to my husband for being the best “CFO” a business lady could ask for (can’t imagine what tax day feels like for those of you not married to a CPA). And I’m over-the-moon grateful for these incredible women that walk the walk, talk the talk, and represent the top of our field. No team compares, of that I’m most certain. Cheers to you. Cheers to us. Cheers to the clients who trust us with their hearts. Cheers to BFT. Happy 9th birthday to my 3rd baby. 🌟

Snow days can feel cozy at first.. but when winter keeps us inside for long stretches, it can start to affect our mood. ❄️

Low energy, lack of motivation, irritability, or feeling “off” are common responses to reduced sunlight, disrupted routines, and less connection. You’re not weak for feeling this way, you’re human.

Gentle structure, movement, light, and connection can make a real difference. And if winter feels heavier than usual, support is always available.

In an effort to bring joy to little hearts and smiles to little faces, we will have donation boxes in both of our office locations by the end of the week. We will be taking donations until December 14th. Please don’t wrap your gift - just place in the box and we take care of the rest! Autism is a developmental condition that affects how people experience the world — but it’s also surrounded by a lot of myths and misunderstandings.

Here’s what research tells us:
✔️ ASD is mainly linked to genetics — inherited traits, mutations, and complex gene interactions.
✔️ The rise in diagnoses doesn’t mean autism is “suddenly more common” — it reflects better awareness, screening, and updated diagnostic criteria.
✔️ Factors like vaccines, parenting style, diet, screen time, medications, or socioeconomic status do not cause autism.

💡 Every person on the spectrum is unique, with their own strengths and challenges. The more we understand, the better we can support autistic individuals and their families.
