Great discussion with Senator Campbell at our recent Veteran’s Networking Breakfast regarding changes in mental health services for Veterans in Texas.

Specifically, Veteran mental health service initiatives will now transfer from the Health and Human Services Commission to the Texas Veterans commission (TVC). This change is meant to align service delivery with TVC’s Veteran specific expertise.

To support TVC’s service initiatives Genesis Medical Group, Central Texas, will provide in-house mental health services with our partner Smithson Valley Counseling Center (SVCC). SVCC providers have extensive experience treating complex trauma, PTSD, and many other forms of mental illness. SVCC is a Tricare and Veteran Community Care Network provider.

Genesis Medical is proud to partner with SVCC in our efforts to streamline mental health services to our local Veterans. If you would like more information or to schedule an appointment with SVCC please call 830-438-3900.
