🤝 A Mindful Approach to Coping With The Texas School Wide Cell Phone Ban

Name the emotion.
-“I feel anxious,” “I feel disconnected,” or “I wonder if focus will improve.”
-Naming helps you own it.

Validate your concerns.
-It’s OK to feel unsettled or nervous.
-You’re adjusting to change.

Focus on what’s within your control:
-Carry a small notebook for schedules or reminders.
-Arrange safe check-in plans before school or during picking up.

Use transitions wisely:
-Lunch conversations, face-to-face chats, or structured group time can become deeper and more present without distractions.

Practice grounding:
-If you feel overwhelmed, take a moment to breathe, stretch, or step outside for a minute.

Seek support when needed:
-Teachers, counselors, and peers are there to listen—whether you’re feeling disconnected, anxious, or just need strategies.

😵 Me: I have so much to do, I don’t know where to start
🛋️ Also me: Lays on couch thinking about how much I have to do

✨ Start small. Like… microscopic.
🧠 Your brain loves momentum, not pressure.

✅ Fold one shirt
✅ Write one sentence
✅ Drink one glass of water

🎯 Action → dopamine → motivation
Not the other way around.

👏 If you:
✅ Got out of bed
✅ Answered one hard email
✅ Showed up even when you didn’t feel like it…

🎉 You’re doing enough.

No need to be the best.
Being present is already powerful.

🧘‍♀️ Rest counts. So does laughing at memes. And yes — so does crying in traffic.

🎒 Back-to-School Blues? Here’s How to Help Your Child Transition Smoothly

That first-day backpack might be ready...
But what about their feelings? 😬💭

🧠 Transitions are tough for kids. New routines = big emotions.
Here’s how to make it a little easier:

✅ Validate their worries: “It’s okay to feel nervous. New things take time.”
🕒 Start routines early: Sleep & morning rhythms need a warm-up too!
🎨 Talk through the unknowns: Where’s the bathroom? Who’s their teacher? What’s for lunch?
🎯 Focus on small wins: “You packed your bag! That’s awesome!”
💛 Stay calm: Kids borrow your energy. If you’re grounded, they’ll feel safer.

Back-to-school isn’t just a checklist.
It’s a transition—emotionally and mentally.

And you’ve got this. 👏
