Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory

Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory Kingwood Funeral Home was formed in 2022 when the owners of Browning FH bought Rotruck Lobb FH. The owners of Browning Funeral Home and Crematory, David W.

Bolyard Jr. and Morgan Mayfield have purchased the operations of Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home located at 295 South Price, Kingwood, WV. This is a merger of Browning Funeral Home and Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home, now known as Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory, operating at the former Rotruck-Lobb location. Given that both Funeral Homes are respectable and have a strong history in the community – a goal

which will continue for years to come. The owners of Browning Funeral Home have been looking at multiple options to Remodel, Build, or Relocate the funeral home in hopes of moving toward a Celebration of Life Center, adapting to the ever changing business and what families want. In today’s environment, it was challenging to even consider a new building, or remodeling an existing building, to make it function as a Celebration of Life Center. With transforming, remodeling and updating four of our existing locations, Davis Funeral Home in Clarksburg and Salem, Bartlett Funeral Home in Grafton and Bolyard Funeral Home in Newburg, purchasing the large Rotruck-Lobb building was the best business decision that provided us with the square footage that will allow us to make updates over the next few months and years to better serve our families. With the vision of a facility that functions for a traditional funeral, along with more cremation options around Celebration of Life Events and Receptions with full catered meals during and after funeral dinners. Merging operations into one, allows us to keep and absorb expenses to help keep cost down for the families. Maintaining superior service and more service options with be carried out by Thomas Smell and Craig Rotruck, as LIC’s over the combined location, allowing families to continue working with the director in which they are comfortable and familiar with along with the support staff as well. Jim Lobb has retired after many years of service to the area. Over the next thirty days we will be fully operational, as we work toward the single location. All prepaid funerals will be honored and will not require any additional steps with this merger. Additionally, we have purchased Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum and Crematory giving our family of funeral homes a second crematory, being the only funeral homes to own a crematory in Preston and Harrison Counties. We will also be expanding our All Pets Cremation and Funeral Center services to handle your most faithful four-legged companions. We want to thank the communities we serve for allowing us to help them during some of their most difficult times. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 304-329-0600 or 304-329-0117.
