🧠✨ May is Mental Health Awareness Month—but what if we turned it into Mental Health Action Month?

We’ve talked about the importance of mental health. Now it’s time to do something about it.

💬 I constantly hear people struggling with:

😩 Parental burnout

💼 Work stress

💔 Relationship conflict

😟 Anxiety

But here’s the thing: You don’t need to wait for a crisis to get support.
Therapy is for anyone looking to feel better, grow, or just breathe a little easier.

🛑 Venting to friends isn't always enough.
📱 Scrolling mental health posts isn't always enough.
✅ Taking action is enough.

This month, take one step—just for you.
Reach out. Book the session. Start your healing.
Your emotional well-being matters. 💚

Need support now? Mind Care Therapy has NJ based, licensed therapists available today and ready to help you feel better. 💬🧠

This year's theme for World Mental Health Day is "Mental Health at Work." In an ideal world, companies and organizations would be fully invested in the mental well-being of every employee; however, we have not yet reached that point. Given this reality, it's essential that we take responsibility for our own mental health as much as possible.

Invest in positive relationships that leave you feeling fulfilled and recharged. Prioritize your physical health by consuming nutritious foods and exercising whenever and wherever you can. Spend time in nature, even if just for a few short minutes. Use your personal time proactively—not just when you feel burnt out, but as a preventive measure against burnout.

Reframe your perception of imposter syndrome by viewing yourself as an infiltrator, rather than an outsider. Shift away from people-pleasing behaviors, and start and end each day with the knowledge that you have honored your own needs.

If these suggestions feel overwhelming, consider reaching out to a therapist for additional support in managing work-related stress.

I am THRILLED to announce that I will be holding a groundbreaking workshop offering a supportive space to young Sikh and interfaith couples navigating between traditional and modern values. Breaking away from the tradition of arranged marriage offers opportunity for genuine connection but without adequate skills to move through distress, love alone is often not enough. If you are getting married through the Anand Karaj ceremony, I highly recommend you join me on 6/1 at ! Please share widely!

I founded Mind Care Therapy in 2020 during the height of the pandemic and social justice crisis as a safe space for all minorities to be their authentic selves and process their fear, grief, and past experiences. Mind Care Therapy continues to be a safe space for people who feel motivated to do the inner work required to take back control of their lives. I honor each and everyone of you who give yourself the time and space to nourish your personal growth and encourage those of you who aren't quite there yet to at least commit to the path of self care and wellness.

About 3 weeks ago, Elmo from Sesame Street asked everyone on X how they were doing and received a surprising amount of responses reporting that people are generally feeling down. Since COVID-19, therapy has become more accessible and less stigmatized but utilization remains low.

You do not have to endure life's stressors alone. Relationships, parenting, work demands, family stress, compounded by inflation, global crisis, politics, inequality is too much for any one person to manage on their own. Contact a therapist now for socially conscious, culturally informed mental health support that can improve your quality of life through evidence-based practices where you drive the results.

Finally feeling ready to embark on a therapy journey can be exhilarating only to be met with what can feel like an overwhelming and exhaustive process to find the right therapist. Be sure to be diligent in the process, book consultations, ask questions, and feel well matched with your therapist both in personality and in approach.

Be open minded. Expect to make some changes. Sometimes a simple reframe can bring empowerment, but you have be ready to accept a growth mindset if you want to experience self improvement.

Conversation in therapy often happens organically, but it can also feel more productive to have a list or agenda items in hand at your session that you have been gathering over the days ahead of your appointment. It can be a feeling, thought, behavior, event, or any combination of those things that you are interesting in discussing. Taking notes during your session can help you remember suggestions from your therapists or prompt further processing outside of the session space.
