During yesterday’s County Commissioners meeting, Ms. Christine Maroules, former Lenoir County Health Director, was honored with a resolution for her years of service. Marsha Lovick accepted the resolution on her behalf. Also, current and retired LCHD staff who worked under her leadership were present to honor her. We thank Ms. Maroules for her dedication to our community and leadership in Public Health.

What Is Measles?

Measles is a very contagious disease, but it can be prevented with a vaccine.

It spreads through the air and by close contact with someone who is sick. The virus can stay in the air for up to two hours after a person leaves the area.
