UNC Lenoir Health Care, licensed for 261 beds, is a not-for-profit hospital dedicated to the community it serves by offering quality inpatient, outpatient and preventive healthcare services that are close to home. In addition to general medical, surgical, and obstetrical and gynecological care, UNC Lenoir Health Care offers specialized services including cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, radiology, and urology. Our surgical specialties include general, thoracic, and vascular with a staff trained to take special care of you during recovery. With a medical staff of over 100 physicians, UNC Lenoir Health Care offers a range of specialty services and technology you would only expect to find at hospitals in larger cities. Concerned with the health status of the community it serves, UNC Lenoir Health Care offers many free educational health programs, seminars, and screenings each year, and constantly seeks out new ways to positively impact the health status of the residents of Lenoir, Greene, Jones, and surrounding counties.

We are currently experiencing an issue with intermittent inbound calls from Verizon Wireless customers to the hospital and clinics. Our vendor is actively troubleshooting the issue around the clock. At this time, there is no estimated time for resolution.

What’s impacted:
• Incoming calls from some Verizon Wireless customers may not be received

What’s not impacted:
• Outbound calls to Verizon Wireless customers are working normally
• Calls between wireless numbers continue to work normally

As an outpatient therapist, Alexis consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her patients receive exceptional care. She strives to make each session both enjoyable and appropriately challenging. Her expertise includes treating patients with neck and back pain, providing vestibular rehabilitation, and supporting recovery after stroke and spinal cord injuries. We are proud to share some exciting news from our Organizational Development department, where we continue to support and grow our own at UNC Health Lenoir. Please join us in congratulating Karly Wynne, our newest UNC Health Lenoir Nursing Scholars recipient!

Karly joined our team in 2021 as a nursing assistant and has since grown into her current role as an Emergency Room RN. Her commitment to professional development has been exceptional. After earning her Associate of Science & Art from Lenoir Community College, she continued her education and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Wilmington last year.

Karly’s passion for advancing her practice doesn’t stop there. She was recently accepted into the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at UNC Wilmington, where she is pursuing a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty. She began the program this fall, and we have no doubt she will thrive in this next chapter of her career.

We are honored to support dedicated healthcare professionals like Karly—those who embody our values, contribute to evidence-based practice, and are committed to improving patient outcomes and expanding preventative care in the communities we serve.

UNC Health Lenoir is proud to announce the arrival of the state-of-the-art da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of surgical care for Kinston, Lenoir County, and the surrounding region. The first procedure using the da Vinci 5 at UNC Health Lenoir was successfully performed on December 2, 2025, by Dr. Jennifer Allison, General and Bariatric Surgeon.
