Job Title: Peer Support Supervisor
Location: Kinston, North Carolina
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Peer Support Supervisor to grow and lead our peer support program in Kinston, NC, and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of peer support specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that individuals with lived experience of mental health or substance use challenges receive the assistance they need to achieve recovery and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
*Supervise and provide leadership to a team of peer support specialists, ensuring they deliver effective support to clients in recovery.
*Develop and implement training programs for peer support staff, focusing on best practices, recovery-oriented approaches, and skill development.
*Conduct regular supervision and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and support to team members.
*Collaborate with clinical staff and other community resources to enhance the services provided to clients.
*Monitor program outcomes and collect data to assess the effectiveness of peer support services.
*Facilitate team meetings and provide a platform for peer support specialists to share experiences, challenges, and successes.
*Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals in recovery, promoting a culture of empowerment and respect.
*Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with established guidelines.
*Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about the peer support program and ensure program growth.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
*Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) credential preferred.
*Minimum of 2 years of experience in peer support, mental health, or substance use services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
*Strong understanding of recovery principles, mental health, and substance use disorders.
**Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
**Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and community organizations.
**Proficient in using technology and data management systems.
