We would like to congratulate Ann Plummer for being our member of the month for March! Ms. Ann has been a member of the wellness center for more than 15 years and is always working hard to better herself. At a recent appointment, her provider let her know that her blood pressure and BMI have both improved significantly and Ann contributes this to the strength training she has been doing at the Wellness Center. Congratulations Ann!

🥊We are excited to announce that we are now an affiliate of Rock Steady Boxing International HQ here at Minges Wellness Center! We are grateful to the Lenoir Hospital Foundation for their generous grant that made it possible to start up this program.

🥊Rock Steady Boxing is specifically designed to slow the progression of Parkinson's Disease through evidence-based exercise. Through our certified Head Coach, boxers with Parkinson's Disease will meet to fight back against Parkinson's through non-contact boxing workouts twice a week.

Get Real and Heel at the Minges Wellness Center is excited to announce that our third cohort has graduated from our cancer exercise program! This was a hard-working group, and they were a joy to work with!

Unfortunately, due to the weather and travel concerns, Chris Draft will not be able to join us in person tomorrow, 1/27. This event will be rescheduled in March, with more information to come. Chris Draft is a former NFL player who is now a lung cancer advocate. He will be joining us at the Minges Wellness Center Tuesday, January 27th from 3:00-4:30 pm to participate in a special exercise blitz session and a meet and greet with our cancer survivors! Former NFL player and lung cancer awareness advocate, Chris Draft will visit UNC Health Lenoir on Tuesday, January 27, to spotlight the Get Real and Heel exercise oncology program at the Minges Wellness Center.
