Indiba vs. FES: what’s the difference?

These electrotherapies have very different mechanisms of action, and will produce very different effects on the body ⚡️

How do we choose which one to use?
A good practitioner will know which modalities to use to hit the problem areas the hardest 👊🏼

FES is great for:
✅improving muscle tone (hyper or hypotonic muscles)
✅ reducing muscle atrophy (muscle wasting due to injury or stall rest)
✅ neuromuscular re-education (the “mind-muscle connection”)
✅increasing range of motion caused by tight muscle

Indiba is great for:
✅promoting soft tissue healing (stem cell proliferation and tissue regeneration)
✅ improving range of motion due to joint pain and stiffness (arthritis)
✅competition prep
✅ enhancing recovery
✅ chronic or actue pain and inflammation

Both can be used for:
✅ increased blood flow
✅ reducing muscle pain and spasms
✅ some neurological conditions

Can they be used together?
Absolutely! Depending on the issue, FES and Indiba can compliment each other beautifully 🤝

⭐️ Now booking for INDIBA treatments! ⭐️

A highly sought after treatment by top vets and physios throughout the UK and Europe, I am thrilled to be one of the only equine practices in the US with this equipment.

INDIBA is an excellent option for:
✅ performance enhancement and recovery
✅ pain and inflammation
✅ tendon and ligament injuries
✅ scar tissue, chronic pathologies

INDIBA is a form of radiofrequency (RF) that delivers a precise, specific frequency of 448kHz. Because it works in a closed circuit, it is ideal for treating deeper structures that traditional modalities may not be able to reach.

Gentle, non-invasive, with no down time; while still delivering powerful results such as tissue regeneration, increased blood flow, and control of pain and inflammation.

Questions about how INDIBA could help your equine athlete? Leave a comment or send me a message, I’d love to chat!

Yesterday I dusted off my tall boots and breeches for the first time in a LONG time, and had one of the very best “riding” lessons I have ever taken

The amount of information from the mechanical horse is incredible. I suspected that I had some dysfunction in my pelvis from an old injury. But more importantly, every single horse I’ve ever sat on has trouble with a right lead canter departure.

Turns out, I put most of my weight through my left seat bone, and my right leg does all sorts of weird things that I don’t ask it to 😅

It’s a tough pill to swallow, but sometimes the problem isn’t the horse, the training, the saddle, the bit… it’s the rider. It’s hard to pick up the correct lead when your rider is giving you conflicting cues.

The tiniest changes in my own posture and tactile cues from Kendra helped me sit straighter and have a more functional and balanced position. And my gosh am I sore today (in the best way!) It’s amazing how dysfunction gets ingrained in our system, and how foreign it initially feels to ride and sit in a functional posture.

If you are anywhere near eastern PA, and you’re serious about being the most effective rider you can be for your horse, this is an absolute MUST.

Massive thank you to for the most positive, fun, and insightful lesson!

And of course, we had to check out Blue after her lesson and make sure she’s feeling good too 😜

Fun fact: Quarter is one of the very first horses I welcomed to my practice as part of a massage case study, almost 2 years ago!

☀️ June schedule is here! ☀️

June and July are shaping up to be busy months, and I am out of office for a certification and my Master’s graduation (yay)!

I have very limited availability for new clients and bit fittings. If you are a current client, please be assured that I will save space for your horse’s maintenance sessions and FES on my calendar.

June is also Bullseye Equine’s one year anniversary! This year, I’ve had the absolute honor of welcoming more than 100 horses to my practice, seeing horses in 6 different states, speaking at vet clinics, and helping several hundred horse and rider pairs find their perfect bit and bridle.

Thank you for being here and for having me be a part of your horse’s team. None of this would be possible without my incredible clients ❤️🖤

I am so excited to add this incredible modality to my offerings: Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)

I was first introduced to this modality almost 5 years ago when I was working for an Olympic medalist show jumper. Their physiotherapist used FES to treat the horses regularly. At the time I didn’t think much of it, but now seeing the research and engineering behind this machine through a different lens, the results are pretty astounding. I am so excited to offer FES to my clients!

A brilliant addition to rehabilitation or maintenance plans, FES can help treat:

- movement restrictions

-painful muscle contractions

-neuromuscular deficits

-muscle weakness or atrophy

Wondering if FES could benefit your horse? Send me a message, I would love to chat!
