This morning started with a coffee and the newspaper.
No rush. Just sitting for a while, flipping through the pages, talking about what’s going on in the world.
Moments like this can seem small, but they’re part of what makes a day feel normal, familiar and comfortable.
That’s something we care about deeply, creating a place where people can still enjoy the simple parts of life.

If you’ve been looking for a warm, personal environment for someone you love, we currently have two openings available. Reach us out to schedule a visit, we’d be happy to help you.

Yesterday felt too beautiful to stay inside, so we headed to Juanita Bay for a walk and some fresh air.
No schedule, no big plans, just a sunny afternoon together. We sat for a while, talked, enjoyed the view, and slowed the day down a little. Moments like this may seem small, but they matter deeply. Especially as people get older.
Being cared for is important, but so is feeling included, connected, and genuinely enjoying time with the people around you.

That’s always been the kind of environment we wanted to create at New Hazen, a place that feels personal, warm, and truly lived in.

We currently have two openings. If you’ve been thinking about senior living for someone you love, reach out to schedule a visit. We’d be happy to answer questions and walk you through the process.

Many people use “Dementia” and “Alzheimer’s” interchangeably, but they don’t mean the same thing.
Dementia is a broader term used to describe symptoms that affect memory, thinking, and daily life.
Alzheimer’s is one specific disease, and the most common cause of those symptoms.

Understanding the difference helps families ask better questions, seek the right support, and plan with more clarity.
If you’re navigating this for someone you love, we’re always here to help you understand what it means and what comes next.

Alzheimer’s often begins with small changes that can be easy to dismiss at first.
Occasional forgetfulness can be part of aging, but consistent patterns in memory, communication, or behavior are worth paying attention to. Recognizing these signs early gives families more time to understand what’s happening and plan the right kind of support.

If you’re noticing changes in someone you love, you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re always here to answer questions and help you understand what next steps may look like.

Dementia rarely begins with one obvious moment.
More often, it starts with subtle changes that are easy to dismiss at first, especially when they happen gradually.
A missed appointment, repeating the same story, difficulty managing things that once felt routine.
While occasional forgetfulness can be a normal part of aging, persistent changes in memory, judgment, or daily functioning deserve attention. Recognizing the signs early can make a meaningful difference in planning, support, and long-term quality of life.

If you’re noticing changes in someone you love, you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re always happy to answer questions or help you understand what support may look like.

When families compare senior care options, the focus is often on services, pricing, or availability. But one thing that’s harder to measure and often felt right away, is the difference in environment.

In a smaller home, the pace is different. The attention is different, the experience of daily life is different.
It’s not always something you can put into words, but it’s something families notice quickly.

For families currently looking, we’re happy to connect and answer any questions .home
We also have a room available right now.

This is what Easter looked like at .home
A full table, time shared, and a space that felt alive. Residents gathered, conversations flowed, and the day carried the kind of energy you don’t get when someone is on their own.

There were traditions, familiar moments, and a sense that this wasn’t just another day, it was something to be part of. And that’s the difference. Not just care, but an environment where people are engaged, included, and surrounded by others - especially on days that matter.

If you’re currently exploring care options, you’re welcome to visit and experience our home in person. We currently have one room available and would be happy to meet families who are looking for a calm and supportive environment.

Most of the time, it’s not one big event that brings families to a Senior Home. It’s a few things that start to add up.
Meals aren’t as regular, medications take more effort to manage, the house isn’t kept the same way. Nothing feels urgent, but it’s also clear things aren’t as easy as they used to be. That’s usually when people start thinking about whether more support might help.
It doesn’t have to be a final decision. Just understanding what options look like can make things a lot clearer.

If this has been on your mind, you’re always welcome to reach out to us .home
We’re here to answer any questions and guide you through the process - we currently have a room available.

Some messages stay with you long after they’re received. They come in the form of a simple thank you card. A few words that reflect a whole experience — trust, care, and time shared together.

Behind them are all the small, everyday moments, the routines, the conversations, the quiet presence. And when a family takes a moment to say “thank you”, for us it means more than words can fully express.

This is what yesterday turned into.
A simple moment, music in the room, familiar songs, and a few smiles along the way. Some join in, some sleep in, some just listen — each in their own way.
That’s the beauty of it.
