A photograph simply cannot convey the amount of love that was in the room last night. As we celebrated 4 years, the corners of the room along with the corners of my heart expanded double in attempt to hold it all. When I began the process of envisioning what hola house would be, I knew that first and foremost I needed to stay true to myself and take the opportunity to build something that was authentic to me, more than I was strategizing to build something that paid the bills. I never identified as a business woman, but I did identify as someone who wanted to bring people together and generate meaningful connections. I grew up in family business, my dad was a veterinarian with his own practice and my mom was the “all things office manager”. Many of my childhood memories are held in co-piloting the million things my mom did to support the business. I watched her intently as a child, she managed to bring a smile to the grocery clerks face by genuinely complimenting their sweater or the way she would energetically show up to the clinic with treats for the staff and have sincere conversations with each one of them. While my dad was saving animals, my mom built the love. Mom, thank you for teaching me that kindness matters. I learned early that the energy you give is the energy you get. I knew that’s how I wanted to live my life. Today I have a community of people around me that I not only can lean on, but people that inspire me and make me a better person. I knew as I wrangled up the courage to open a business that I was going to be stretched, challenged and humbled in every way possible. What I didn’t know was how incredible blessed I would be by what has been built. I certainly have not done this alone and I want to thank everyone who has been by my side from the beginning and the tribe that has grown along the way. Thank you to all of our members who appreciate what we do at hola. I said it last night, I always trust that we find our people- and as I look around- I feel right at home with you all! You make my life better. You make me better. And you make hola house a true portal of love and kindness. Cheers to 4 years! Let’s keep this journey going!
