“Oh no, I’m afraid of hypnosis! It’s mind control!”
This is a common belief that:
 1) Prevents people from seeking help from a professional hypnotherapist.
2) Causes them to resist the process, often engaging in a power struggle to prove they can't be hypnotized.
3) Makes them question the effectiveness of hypnosis, even if they do experience it—thinking it probably won’t work or, if it does, it won’t last.
All of these reactions are counterproductive.
The truth is, there are things you can control—and you know how to control them. For example, you can pick up a cup of coffee and bring it to your mouth instead of your ear. You can put on your pants instead of getting tangled in them. You drive your car—and hopefully, you’re in control. That’s what control looks like.
There are also things you cannot control because they’re outside your influence. You can curse the traffic, but you’re still stuck in it. You can be upset that it’s raining, but that won’t stop the rain.
And then, there are things you currently cannot control—because you don’t know how, or because the way you’re trying to control them isn’t working. Maybe you currently cannot control your worry-filled mind. Maybe you currently cannot control your fear of spiders or snakes. Maybe you currently cannot feel confident, good enough or lovable. Etc.
This is where hypnosis can be incredibly helpful.
Hypnosis allows us to bypass the critical, judgmental mind—like a guard at the door of your unconscious—and deliver helpful, healing suggestions right where they are needed. It can help you build new habits, open your mind to fresh perspectives, and connect you with inner resources, strengths, and gifts that may not be accessible in your usual state of awareness.
Hypnosis is a healing state.
Hypnosis is a spiritual space.
Hypnosis is a shortcut to relaxation and inner peace.
A professional hypnotherapist is a highly trained expert—just like a car technician, hairstylist, dentist, or doctor. In our area of expertise, we can help you achieve your goals and make life easier and more manageable.
I work with clients online, in person (at my office in Kirkland, WA), and even outdoors in nature. I am trained in various forms of hypnosis, including clinical, transpersonal, and medical hypnosis. I also integrate NLP and Emotional Energy Alchemy into my sessions.
I offer free consultations and would love to share the beautiful gift of hypnotherapy with you.
