Wanna glimpse of what has been happening in the 5lbs down 21 day detox challenge? Here is Dr. Jeremy's post from this morning!

Controlling your cortisol level is a key to unlock fat loss. Did you know that over training can increase cortisol?
Guess what?? You have been doing 4 of the 5 top ways to control your cortisol!! Congratulations! Lets review:

1. Morning Sunlight Exposure ☀️
Why? Natural sunlight in the morning helps regulate your circadian rhythm, lowering cortisol levels at night for better sleep.
Easy Implementation:
Step outside for 10-15 minutes within an hour of waking.
No sunglasses—let the light hit your eyes directly (not staring at the sun, of course).
If it’s dark/cloudy, use a 10,000-lux light box for 10 minutes.
2. Deep Breathing & Box Breathing 🧘‍♀️
Why? Slows the nervous system, shifting from fight or flight (high cortisol) to rest and digest (low cortisol).
Easy Implementation:
Use Box Breathing (4-4-4-4 Method):Inhale 4 seconds → Hold 4 seconds → Exhale 4 seconds → Hold 4 seconds
Repeat for 1-2 minutes (morning or before bed).

3. Magnesium & Adaptogens 🌿
Why? Magnesium calms the nervous system, while adaptogens like Ashwagandha & Rhodiola help buffer cortisol spikes.

1 hour before bed = No screens.

5. Short Walks After Meals 🚶‍♀️
Why? Lowers cortisol & blood sugar, reducing stress responses.
Easy Implementation:
Walk for 5-10 minutes after meals.
If busy, just pace around the house or do air squats for 2 minutes.
Bonus: Prioritize Protein & Healthy Fats in meals to keep blood sugar stable—because cortisol spikes when blood sugar crashes!
