NEMO AHEC is proud to announce a FREE Trauma & Stop-the-Bleed Training simulation program. This program will involve three simulated car accident scenarios, where students will serve as first responders. As a team, students will work together to determine the best course of action to save the patient. Students will also get a closer look at the pathway and educational track of an EMT, paramedic, and ER staff.

After, students will get to participate in hands-on Stop-the-Bleed training provided by the Adair County Health Department.

NEMO AHEC is partnering with the Northeast Regional Medical Center to provide a Career Exploration Program focusing on careers in Radiology!
Students will experience a hands-on tour through the radiology department, while also getting the chance to dive further in-depth into the careers of a radiologist, ultrasound tech, x-ray tech, and more!

Last week we had 37 students from six different counties participate in our annual M*A*S*H Camp hosted at the Scotland County Hospital!

Students had the opportunity to participate in different activities such as blood typing, a cow eye dissection, suture a chicken leg, CPR, and healthcare career presentations!

Thank you to all the staff volunteers and presenters! We’d also like to give a big shoutout to Tara Shultz, the Scotland County Med Club Coordinator, for helping organize and run the day! We couldn’t have done it without you!
Thank you to the other local partners for volunteering your time and donating meals: Scotland County Pharmacy, Scotland County Health Department, Scotland County Ambulance District and the Apothecafe!

Our first Camp Med was a success!
Students from regional counties and high schools participated in career exploration, CPR training, learned how to stitch/ suture, dissection of a cow eye, and many other exciting activities.

Excited to have piloted the Mystery Diagnosis & Dissection program this weekend🕵️‍♀️👩‍⚕️🩺! We had a total of 16 students from across Northeast Missouri choose to give up their Saturday morning to learn about the diagnostic process and dissect a sheep brain!

Special thanks to our ATSU Anatomy fellows, Morgan, Travis, Trevor, and Grace. Without them this program would not have been possible. Thank you to the Kirksville Area Technical Center and Jennifer Chinn for letting us use your classroom and simulation lab! Special shoutout to the local businesses who donated gift cards to our students, including: TK Prime, Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant - Kirksville, and Maxwell's!
