Good news! We are starting back to work! Dr. Van Soest will begin seeing patients again for regular dental work on Tuesday, May 5. Please call us at 660-627-2227 or 660-265-4486 for all your dental needs. We will be doing some pre-screening procedures before we see you, such as asking you some questions about your health and taking your temperature. We are excited to get back to work and start seeing patients again. This has been a very difficult six weeks for us as a small business and we really appreciate your support and concern. Stay well and healthy!

As recommended by the American Dental Association and the CDC, Dr. Van Soest’s office will be postponing all elective dental treatment during the month of April. All hygiene and routine care treatment will need to be postponed.

However, we will be available for emergency and urgent dental care Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm in either our Kirksville or Milan office. If you had a routine appointment scheduled in April, we will be in contact with you to reschedule the appointment. If you have a dental emergency or urgent dental need, please call our offices at 660-627-2227 or 660-265-4486 to talk to someone about making an appointment. If you reach our answering machine, please leave your name, number, and dental need on the machine and someone will return your call.

If you are wondering what constitutes a dental emergency or need for urgent care, please call us if you have any of these symptoms: bleeding that doesn’t stop; painful swelling in or around your mouth; pain in a tooth, teeth, or jaw bone; gum infection with pain and/or swelling; or a broken or knocked out tooth. We can then help you determine the best course of action.

We miss our patients and hope to soon be able to resume seeing you for all your dental needs. We are praying that this horrible pandemic ends very soon.

An update for our patients--we have decided to close our office until April 7. Dr. Van Soest was on vacation last week and traveled outside the state. To be absolutely safe and protect our patients and staff, he is self-quarantining himself for 14 days. He will not be seeing patients at all during this time.

We are cancelling all dental appointments for the weeks of March 23-27 and March 30-April 3. We will call you later to reschedule any scheduled dental appointments. If you need emergency dental care before April 7, please contact one of the other local dentists.

Thank you for your understanding. We love our patients and look forward to seeing you soon.

Our office participated in the Chamber Trivia Challenge last Friday night. Happy to say we were the winners! Lots of fun.

Dr. Van Soest was part of this project! He really enjoyed volunteering on several Saturday mornings to provide veterans with free dentures! What a great project!

A few area veterans are showing off their smiles.Saturday morning in Kirksville, 12 vets received new dentures.It was all part of A.T. Still University's Dentures for Veterans Project.The dentures were provided to the vets at no cost.ATSU faculty and third
