Spring is here and so is the sunshine!

Did you know that being exposed to the sun releases serotonin in the brain? AKA the happy hormone that boosts our mood and helps us feel more calm and focused.

This is referred to as phototherapy. Ready to get your phototherapy on?!

Here are 5 quick tips for effective phototherapy:

1️⃣ Don't overthink it—grab a towel, a cushion, and your phone (so you can listen to your favorite meditation app or soothing music) and head outside!

2️⃣ Fit it into your daily routine at a designated YOU time. This is something you get to do for yourself, not a chore you have to do. Make self-care a daily practice.

3️⃣ Tune into yourself. Listen to your body and choose a position that feels comfortable so that you can welcome any thoughts or emotions. Reflect don't try to correct.

4️⃣ Notice the wide open space of the outside. Often we feel cluttered because of objects and things. Instead notice the space between your fingers, the clouds, one leaf and another. This will allow you to mentally declutter.

5️⃣ Finish with gratitude. When you take a moment to express what you are thankful for or what you appreciate, you will end on a high note feeling positive.
