Perhaps my most productive shoulder day in 2 years here in the World Famous Kissimmee Muscle 24 hour gym today
Different mindset after visiting with the Orthopedic Surgeon last week and a productive day
Started with the Paramount Total Shoulder press motion today
This piece has the opposite arc to that of the Hammer Strength press which we also have and I also love. The Paramount is the heavier feeling of the two pieces and I’m thrilled to make it to one of the big 45 pound plates today after months with no weight or one ten per side
Stuck around for the rear Delt position on the same piece. The angle of the handles locks you into a good path but I was able to dial this in further today by focusing on really protracting the scapula at the bottom and attempting to keep it locked down for the entire movement. This was once very natural for me but with strained older shoulders and weakened seratus, it has been a challenge to maintain the protracted position. Better today!
Switched up my DB side laterals to single so as to not favor my weaker shoulder and shifted to leaning to unload the end of the movement much like on our Strive pieces. Was able to get a fuller contraction today and even a bit of a pump
Rear lateral raises with DB on incline bench were painful across biceps tendons in front but also pumped for a change
DB shrugs continue to be painful across biceps tendons and supraspinatus but was able to work up to 50 pound per hand which is the best in a while
Still a work in progress but a few steps forward today which felt good!
