The difference between solvent and non-solvent cannabis concentrates lies in their extraction methods. Solvent-based concentrates use compounds like butane, propane, ethanol, or CO2 to extract cannabinoids and terpenes, resulting in products like wax, shatter, budder, crumble, and live resin. These concentrates often have high potency and various textures.
Non-solvent concentrates, on the other hand, use physical methods such as heat, pressure, or agitation to separate trichomes from the plant material. Examples include hash, kief, rosin, and charas. These are considered more natural and pure, as no solvents are involved in their production.
