Happy Social Work Month to all of the hardworking social workers! A special shout out to owner of FYD Therapy PLLC LaSonia Ashley, LCSW for her dedication, compassion, empathy, and genuineness that she meets her clients with in every session! LaSonia truly has a heart for her clients and is eager to be a listening ear as well as implementing life changing action-driven modalities into their everyday life practices.
LaSonia has a Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts degree in Social Work from Northwestern State University and a Master’s of Science degree from the College of Professional Studies at Grambling State University. She was recently accepted into the Social Work-PhD program at Our Lady of The Lakes University for Summer 2023 term. She is dedicated to furthering her education and reaching her maximum potential to be able to meet her community and clients in the MOST EFFECTIVE WAY!
LaSonia has always had a passion for people who are broken and downcast and for people who just simply have a desire to become better by facing their emotional, mental, and spiritual dysfunctions. LaSonia’s future plans for macro level practice includes working in her community to assist homeless individuals who have a desire to return back into the workforce and rid themselves of homelessness by engaging in programs to help them become better and managing their mental health. She also plans to work in her community providing mental health services, mentorship, and skills training to children, adolescents, and adults.
LaSonia has over 15 years of experience in mental and behavioral health and is known for her direct, non-judgmental yet compassionate approach with her clients. Her love for helping people is not just about her career, but rather personal as she has also experienced low moments, homelessness, brokenness, and even suicidal thoughts in her earlier years. LaSonia’s vision is to be for others what she needed in those moments and what others will need in their low moments..to simply Find Their Destiny!!
So with that being said, Please wish LaSonia and other Social Workers a Happy Social Work Month!
