📢 After many incredible years of serving the community, I, as the founder of FreeSpirit Birth, am ready to announce the closing of my business. It has been an absolute honor to support and guide over 1300 mothers and couples on their beautiful journey of childbirth.

Throughout the years, I have not only provided doula services but also empowered families with yoga and childbirth preparation classes, ensuring a well-rounded and informed experience. This very philosophy is not encouraged at UT hospital and I am, therefore, banned.

I am eternally grateful to my mentors, including the esteemed Pam England, whose wisdom and guidance have shaped my journey as a birth professional. Herteachings have been invaluable in helping me provide the highest quality care to all the wonderful parents who have entrusted me with such a profound and special moment in their lives.

To all the parents who allowed me to be a part of their birth stories, I want to express my deepest gratitude. Your trust in me and FreeSpirit Birth has been humbling and inspiring. Witnessing the strength and love that you bring into the world has been an incredible privilege.

As one chapter closes, another one begins. I invite you all to join me on my new adventure at Well Rooted Plants, Knoxville. Follow me there as I continue to nurture and support families in new and exciting ways.

Hello, friends and fellow green thumbs! 🌿 After 27 blooming years of supporting expectant mothers as a Doula, I am branching out into a new venture - or should I say ‘vine’? Just as I’ve nurtured over 1200 babies into the world, I’m now turning my touch to nurturing plants, and trust me, the parallels are leafy and plentiful!

Just as each mother and birth story is unique, so too are each plant and its growth journey. I’ve swapped midnight birthing calls for early morning watering sessions, and believe me when I say that both babies and plants can be equally ‘rooted’ in their ways! But as with birth, patience and understanding lead to growth, and there’s nothing quite like the joy of seeing a new leaf unfurl, a reflection of life’s simple yet profound miracles.

So, whether you’ve got the ‘green thumb’ or can’t even keep a cactus alive, join me as I embark on this new journey. I’ll be offering plants for sale and creating lush, green spaces as decor for local businesses. Need a touch of greenery in your life or workspace? I’ve got you covered!

Monday morning pep talk!
Unpredictable Journey of Birth

It’s completely natural to feel a mix of emotions as you approach the birth of your first child or any child for that matter. The unknown can seem intimidating, even scary, but remember, this is a path women have walked since the dawn of time. You are not alone.

Birth is a dance between control and surrender. It’s about tapping into your instinctual wisdom, trusting your body, and reminding yourself that you were built for this. 🌸

As a seasoned doula, I’ve had the privilege to witness the transformative power of birth. It’s an unpredictable journey, yes, but it’s also an incredible testament to your strength and resilience.

Remember, no two birth stories are the same. Just like snowflakes or fingerprints, each one is unique.

It’s okay to have fears, it’s okay to have doubts. But don’t let them overshadow the experience as a whole.

Trust in your ability to navigate this journey. Lean on your support systems, ask questions, and equip yourself with knowledge. And most importantly, trust in the process, the natural rhythm of life unfolding.

As your doula, I’m here, holding space for you, providing comfort and assurance every step of the way.

We look forward to updates after blood work and ultrasound and use that date to determine our best course of action and we just love hearing how things are going for you. We also help support our patients in finding the right fertility team to meet their needs. Having the right team can make all the difference.

We don't do this work because it is easy, but because there is nothing better than when someone finally gets some good news!
