Lady Carnivory Welcome to the Meat Fam!

Somewhere along the way, you learned that feelings were problems to be solved. You were taught to reason, reframe, push through, and manage your way out of actually feeling anything.

The toddler on the floor isn't integrating their experience. They're not practicing their breath work. They're just screaming. And then it's over.

The reason they feel like tsunamis instead of waves isn't because you're too sensitive or too much. It's because you were taught emotion = bad, naughty child.

You don't fix emotions. You make space for them.

And that starts with understanding what your nervous system actually needs. You do not need more coping strategies, you need to build a foundation stable enough to let you feel.

Comment GUIDE to get started today!

Boundaries aren’t a way to shut people out, they are a way of telling you exactly how to come closer.

The reframe that changed how I set boundaries forever.

If you grew up performing for love, "boundary" probably still feels like a word that means "I'm rejecting you." It doesn't. It means here's how to keep loving me without burning me out.

The who, what, where, when of being in my life — that's not a wall, that's a freakin treasure map.

Save this for the next time you have to say no and your body braces for the fallout 😬

Every time you rest and the world keeps spinning - when the deadline doesn't vanish, the team keeps moving, you're still loved, you're still here - your nervous system starts to believe something it didn't believe before:

Rest didn’t kill me.

If you grew up in a body where slowing down made you a target, or a disappointment, or invisible, your nervous system filed productivity under "safety." So when you take a day off, it doesn't read as recovery. It reads as danger.

That's why guilt floods in. That's why you check email twelve times. That's why your shoulders won't drop.

You don't teach your body that rest is safe by reasoning with it. You teach it by giving it proof. The first very scary time. Then again (less scary). Then again (barely scary).

Save this for the next time your body confuses rest with danger.

“This is uncomfy but it’s not unsafe”

If we haven’t met, hi! My name is Jacie, your nervous system bestie. After years of high achieving + chronic illness my body said “I can’t take this anymore.” Tired of pushing through burnout and overwhelm, I decided to stop fighting my body. This nervous system journey has helped me and I want it to help you too! Next step is taking care of myself consistently so I don’t have to pull big levers to recover 😅

Day 9 of Revuilding my Nervous System

Stop saying yes to the things your body is saying no to.

If you grew up in an environment where rules were inconsistent and people made you feel unsafe if they were not pleased, it makes sense that you would feel uncomfortable saying “no.”

No wasn’t an option even when it wasn’t fair.

As an adult, I can recognize that my dysregulation often comes from a source that wasn’t my fault, but is my responsibility if I want to live a better life.

Day 6 of Rebuilding my Nervous System

Coregulation! If you are like me, you might wish you could take the humans out of this equation. It is hard enough to regulate on our own,

But it’s also really great! The same way some people can dysregulate us, they can also help us regulate. Hold your regulating homies close ❤️

Day 4 of Rebuilding my Nervous System as a hypometabolic carnivore

Don't get me wrong, I love carnivore. I started it in 2020 - best health of my life!

Then, I got exposed to mold which triggered Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome - that inflammatory response upregulated certain genes and downregulated others to cause me to be hypometabolic.

Hypometabolism means your body isn't as efficient at converting food into energy, especially when you are carnivore and all the burden of supplying glucose to your brain (yes, your brain needs glucose) falls on your liver through a process called gluconeogenesis.

Signs you might be hypometabolic include:
✨ Feeling heavy/sore after workouts
✨ Push/crash levels of fatigue
✨ If keto macros used to make you feel good but now they feel "grindy"

If you are hypometabolic, your body might feel under-resourced because it doesn't have easy energy. Adding in some carbs to provide easy access to glucose might feel safer for your body right now.

So what do I eat? It's a little easier to explain what I don't eat:
✨ Seed Oils
✨ Seeds/Nuts
✨ Grains (except for rice, rice works for me YMMV)
✨ Nightshades
✨ Oxalate-heavy foods
✨ Dairy

And realistically this means most of my diet is meat. I eat a serving or two of rice and 2-3 servings of fruit for carbs (especially on strength training days) and the occassional serving of brussel sprouts, broccoli, zucchini, or cauliflower.

My body feels SO GOOD eating this way, I have lots of energy and I have really great poops - what more could a girl ask for? 😇💩

Day 3!!! Of Rebuilding my Nervous System

Today we are talking allll about Baseline supports - AKA the things we can do to make sure our bodies are resourced and healthy.

The #1 thing that determines my baseline?

SLEEP

If I sleep poorly, I am MUCH more likely to make bad decisions with eating and much less likely to move my body - two other SUPER IMPORTANT (for me) Baseline supports. To me, sleeping well the night before is what determines the quality of my day.

So here she is, Ni Night Mix the Remix:

30 Day Supply:
64g mag glycinate 2.2
360g glycine 12
24g l theanine 1g
24g gaba

Daily Serving:
16g total

I drink this about 1 hour before bed and I have been sleeping like a little dreaming BABY. So good.

Day 2 of Rebuilding My Nervous System

Check out my last video to understand the structure for my gameplan 🫶🏻

The Gameplan for the next 90 Days:

✨ optimize Baseline physiological health activities - sleep, nutrition, movement, inflammation status

✨ incorporate Capacity building tools - both passive/long term tools (e.g. vibration plate, gratitude journaling) and tools for acute dysregulation (this is where a nervous system map ✨shines✨ it can help you understand which tools work best per situation)

✨ live in Alignment - if there is anything I’m doing that is hurting my soul, identify and stop doing that but also increasing the things I do that bring me joy!

Over the next couple of days I’ll start sharing specific things like how I’m optimizing sleep or what exactly I’m eating to support my nervous system!
