More insurance changes π
The Lactation Network has stirred up the pot yet again...
They were our main billing service but we have switched.
Starting July 14th they will no longer accept families who have BCBS plans...if you're local to Tennessee then you know that a good majority of private plans in this area are BCBS plans.
Families who were approved for care prior to July 14th will still be able to be seen based on the limits TLN has put in place. This may not reflect what your insurance plan truly covers.
This is exactly why we have switched:
β’ Better coverage for the families we serve
β’ No visitation limits put in place by anyone other than your insurance company
What's most frustrating is Lactation care is a covered service in most insurance plans. The INSURANCE COMPANIES ()
WILL NOT CREDENTIAL ME BECAUSE I AM SOLELY AN INTERNATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED LACTATION CONSULTANT. They have coverage for services but will not let the ones who provide services be in network. Make it make sense. Please.
I am a part of a care team. A team who focuses on helping babies eat and moms breastfeed. I have extensive training but I'm still not recognized. So here I am making waves π because I will never stop advocating for Moms and babies.
