Hey friends! We are hosting an 8 series workshop on personal protection. This is a lifesaving curriculum on disaster survival, self sufficiency, emergency response, fi****ms education, etc. This course is specifically focused and geared for our £GBTQ!A+ community. This series is a fundraiser for the instructor, Heather to help offset vet bills, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Summer Vibes!

We are full swing into farmers market season, it's pride month, and the Boocherie is your go to for restorative offerings.

Big thanks to everyone who came out to the Connecting Knox Community Market event at Ancient Lore Village last weekend! We had such a great time seeing all your smiling faces :)

Proceeds go to benefit the Knox Pride Center, who has consistently SHOWN UP for Knoxville's underserved communities. Show both of these organizations some love AND help others! We wholeheartedly support the recent post by Gus's Good Time Deli. It saddens us to witness the closure of so many local and small businesses. These establishments were built on years of dreams, planning, and hard work. Contrary to popular belief, small businesses are not typically owned by wealthy individuals; rather, these incredible owners have risked everything, from their homes to their retirement savings. They have sacrificed sleep, insurance, quality time with their families, and much-needed days off. They have fought valiantly to keep their doors open amid challenges that most people may never fully understand. Now, they are forced to close due to skyrocketing costs for inventory, rent, and taxes, which have surpassed their ability to generate income.
Businesses like ours employ local residents, provide spaces for other small entrepreneurs to showcase their products, and create environments for community gatherings. Their loss is deeply felt. Sadly, the most significant issue we face is complacency—when a local business announces its closure, many people suddenly express their sadness and show up in droves during the final days, but these same guests were previously spending the same $7 at Starbucks for coffee or $15 at a chain restaurant for lunch that would have kept these small businesses open. It’s not that our community lacks the funds; they are just already spending it elsewhere. Many simply do not fully understand the significant impact that every dollar, social media endorsement, review, or post share has on the survival and success of their local businesses.
Imagine a community where every purchase strengthens your neighborhood. By supporting local and small businesses, including franchises owned by neighbors, you do just that. Because advertising often promotes large chains, it's easy to overlook the heart of our vibrant city. These local spots give our streets unique character and form the spirit of our community. Your support helps us thrive, preserving what makes our city wonderful. Let's uplift the businesses that keep our neighborhoods flourishing.
