March is endometriosis awareness month, and we sure do need to raise awareness! Current statistics say 1 in 10 women have endometriosis, but I feel that endo is actually VASTLY under diagnosed.

Most patients go through multiple providers before getting a diagnosis, with an average of 8-10 years between symptoms and diagnosis of the cause. This is just unacceptable!

Follow along this month as I share more endo info!

This is literally the best advancement I have seen in male fertility testing in a LONG time, and I am so excited!

SpermQT is newer to the market, and it looks at the ability for s***m to find, bind, pe*****te, and fertilize an egg. In their studies they identified that about 20% of men have an abnormal SpermQT result. Out of those men, over 80% of them had previously been told they had a completely normal semen analysis.

This is huge! Before this our testing for men was pretty limited, meaning women end up bearing the majority of the load when going through fertility testing. We know that male factor contributes to infertility cases equally as often as female factor, but we put women through so many invasive procedures trying to determine the cause of fertility struggles.

Now we have this accurate and non-invasive test that can provide so many answers! If we receive an abnormal result then we know there is a very low likelihood of success with natural conception or IUI at that point.

Then we can get to work on improving s***m! There are many modifiable factors that can improve s***m health and improve pregnancy chances.

It takes about 74 days for the full cycle to produce new s***m, so I tell my patients to work in 3 month cycles- we work on interventions for 3 months and then retest to see what we have been able to improve.

Or for couples who are TTC and ready for assisted reproductive interventions, this can guide next steps- with an abnormal result we would recommend moving into IVF and skip the money and time they would spend doing IUI cycles.

Ask your provider about SpermQT!I’m so excited to see how many TTC couples we can help!

Supplements I take every day to support my fertility health:

- Alpha Lipoic Acid

- Choline

- N-acetyl-cysteine

- Prenatal vitamin

- Zinc

- Magnesium

- Omega 3

- Vitamin C

- CoQ10

- DHEA

- Tribulus

- Inositol

- Vitamin D

- Folate

Not pictured- melatonin every night, creatine and pine pollen in my protein shake every morning.

I eat a very health, well rounded diet, but so many of the critical nutrients we need for fertility health are hard to get in adequate amounts- so I supplement!

Let me know if you have questions about the function of these nutrients for fertility!
