It’s easy to underestimate how quickly summer heat can turn serious. Do you know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke? With the heat indices expected over 100 for the next couple of days, it’s important to know the signs and act fast to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Heat exhaustion can often be treated with rest and hydration. Heat stroke, on the other hand, is a medical emergency. If someone is showing symptoms of heat stroke, call 911 or get to the ER immediately.

We are a proud supporter of our area youth! Yesterday at the Marion County Fair livestock auction, it was our privilege to purchase a cow shown by Ryley, daughter of Wendy Carlson (Surgery) and pictured with KHC CFO Sean Dhabalt, and a pig shown by Elizabeth, daughter of Teela Becker (Surgery). We are proud of Ryley and Elizabeth’s dedication and the amount of time they have invested in caring for their animals. Thank you to everyone who planned and supported the Marion County Fair this year!
