You’re bottle-feeding… and still wondering why it feels this hard.
Feeding takes forever.
Your baby seems frustrated.

You’ve tried different bottles, formulas, positions — but something still feels off.

And every time you bring it up, someone says,
“Don’t worry, she’s gaining weight, she’s fine.”
But you don’t feel fine. Feeding isn’t supposed to be this stressful.

Here’s the thing most people miss 👇
Tongue ties aren’t just a breastfeeding issue.
Bottle-fed babies can absolutely struggle with tongue ties, too...it just shows up differently.

And many of them go undiagnosed because they’re still growing “okay enough.”

But here’s what growth charts don’t show:
👉 How hard your baby is working to eat
👉 The tension in their tiny body
👉 The air they’re swallowing
👉 The exhaustion you both feel after every feed

You don’t need to wait until things get worse.
You don’t have to settle for “it’s fine” when your gut says otherwise.

✨ We see you. We believe you. And we’re here to help.

You’ve tried different bottles, formulas, and positions, but something still feels off.bies in the Knoxville, TN area especially when feeding feels harder than it should.

Some babies are working harder than they should, not because they’re behind or doing anything “wrong,” but because their nervous system is still holding onto early reflexes that haven’t fully faded away.

These reflexes are meant to help in the very beginning with feeding, calming, even helping baby move through the birth canal.

👉 But as baby grows, those reflexes are supposed to fade so that new, more controlled movements can take over.

📣 When that doesn’t happen, your baby may continue reacting automatically, startling at small movements, arching their back when lying down, or stiffening their limbs instead of moving fluidly.

And because it’s all happening under the surface, these signs are easy to miss or get dismissed as “just a phase."

If you feel something's off with your baby, don't wait and see!

🥰 At MilestonesTW, we look beyond the milestone checklist and help uncover what’s underneath.

📍We provide pediatric physical and occupational therapy for babies and toddlers in the Knoxville, Tennessee area.

A tongue tie release is an important first step, but did you know it’s not a complete fix on its own?

The release removes the physical restriction, yes…
But your baby’s body has likely been working around that restriction for weeks or even months.

That means they may still be using old habits like shallow sucking, jaw tension, or arching, even after the release.

👉 Without the right aftercare, those patterns can stick around.

Tongue tie release opens the door, but aftercare is what helps your baby fully learn how to move, feed, and breathe with ease again.

Your baby’s body needs time, support, and a chance to relearn how to move without compensating.

That’s where we come in!
🥰 At MilestonesTW, we help babies recover and thrive after tongue tie with gentle therapy that supports oral function, body tension, and motor development.

📍We serve families in and around Knoxville, Tennessee.

Standing early doesn’t always mean walking will come early.

In some cases, it’s actually your baby’s way of compensating, using stiff legs or tension instead of coordinated movement.

Walking requires more than strong legs, it depends on:
👉 Core strength
👉 Balance and weight shifting
👉 Motor planning

If your little one skipped crawling, stands on tiptoes, or avoids moving once they’re upright, they might need support building the skills that come before walking.

💚 If your mama gut is wondering, let’s take a look together.

Worried about your baby’s head shape? Don’t wait and see.

Your baby’s skull is still forming during the first year, and flat spots can develop quickly especially if there's a feeding or head-turning preference. While some shaping differences are common, persistent flat spots that don’t improve with repositioning may need support.

If your baby:
🤔 Always turns their head to one side
🤔 Has a flat spot that’s getting worse
🤔 Seems uncomfortable turning their head

…it’s time to get it checked out.

Early support can improve head shape, help with motor development, and prevent long-term issues.

💕 A pediatric physical or occupational therapist can offer tips and exercises to help with head movement and positioning.

They can also check for things like torticollis, which can cause flat spots.

💕 MTW provides in home pediatric physical and occupational therapy focusing on babies and toddlers in and around the Knoxville, Tennessee area.

Toe walking can be normal in the early stages of walking.

Babies may walk on their toes when they’re excited, exploring new surfaces, or just figuring out how their body moves.

🚩 But if toe walking happens all the time, it could be a red flag.
👉It may point to muscle tightness, sensory issues, or weakness in the core and ankles. In some cases, it can be related to underlying motor or neurological concerns.

If your baby consistently walks on their toes, avoids putting their heels down, or continues toe walking past age 2, don’t wait it out.

💕 Milestones Therapy & Wellness provides pediatric physical and occupational therapy for babies and toddlers in and around Knoxville, Tennessee.

Babies are naturally designed to breathe through their nose.

It’s how they eat, sleep, and regulate their nervous system, especially in those early months when their mouths are busy with feeding and soothing.

But when nasal breathing becomes harder than it should be, the body doesn’t just stop breathing.
👉 It adapts.

They might open their mouth to breathe, shift their posture, or become more alert and fussy because their little body is working overtime to do something that should come easily.

And while these adaptations help them get through the moment, they can quietly ripple into everything else:
👉 Feeding becomes less efficient.
👉 Sleep feels lighter, more restless.

It’s not always obvious.

And that’s why so many parents are told, “they’ll grow out of it.”

But when you pause and look closely really look, you’ll see a baby who’s just doing their best in a body that could use a little more support.

Mama, you don't have to wait and see!

🥰 At MTW, we specialize in pediatric physical and occupational therapy, focusing on babies and toddlers in and around the Knoxville, Tennessee area.

You were told the latch looks fine.
Baby’s gaining weight.
You’re doing everything “right.”
So… why does it still feel so hard?🤔

Feeding takes forever.
Your baby pulls on and off, makes clicking noises, or gulps in air.

👉 Some babies with tongue ties can compensate just enough to feed, but that doesn’t mean they’re feeding well or comfortably.

They may be using their lips, jaw, or cheeks to stay latched because the tongue can’t move the way it needs to.

And over time, those small compensations can lead to body tension, gas, reflux, fussiness, sleep struggles, and feeding aversions.

✨ You don’t have to wait for things to get worse. Learn about the options. Set up a great team. And let’s figure it out.
✨ If feeding feels hard, that’s reason enough to get support.
