More and more clients have been asking me lately…
“Do I need to dissolve my lip filler?”

And honestly—I think a lot of this is coming from TikTok trends right now.

Here are my thoughts ⬇️

You ONLY need to dissolve if there are true issues like:
• Migration
• Lumps
• Significant asymmetry

Otherwise… dissolving is not necessary for everyone.

Let’s be real for a second—some providers are pushing a “start over” approach, and yes… it often turns into:
💉 Multiple rounds of dissolving
💉 Then refilling
💰💰💰

And once lips are dissolved, most people feel rushed to refill because they’re not used to their natural lips anymore.

Profile balancing with chin filler ✨

One of the measurements we evaluate when assessing facial balance is the E-Ricketts line, which runs from the tip of the nose to the chin. Ideally, the lips should sit slightly behind this line.

This patient had a slightly recessed chin, which made the profile appear less balanced. By placing dermal filler in the chin, we improved projection and brought her profile closer to the ideal aesthetic line.

📏 It’s not always the lips… sometimes it’s the CHIN.

Ever heard of the Ricketts E-Line? It’s an aesthetic guideline used to evaluate facial balance from the side profile.

A line is drawn from the tip of the nose to the tip of the chin. Ideally:
✨ The upper lip sits about 4 mm behind the line
✨ The lower lip sits about 2 mm behind the line

When the chin is slightly recessed, the lips can look smaller or less defined — even if they’re actually a beautiful shape and volume.

That’s where chin filler comes in 💉
