It’s not your position that matters… it’s the baby’s!

You can breastfeed sitting, standing, laying down, or even upside down (okay, not recommending it—but hey, it’s technically possible).

What really matters is how your baby is positioned in relation to your breast:
• Baby’s head and body should be in a straight line (ear, shoulder, hip aligned)
• Tummy facing your body (no twisting)
• Nose touching your ni**le, so they can tilt their head back and latch deeply

Side-lying is one of my favorite positions to recommend. It’s great for rest, recovery, and those marathon cluster feeds. Just lie on your side with baby facing you, belly to belly. Or with the baby sitting upright latched to the top breast!! Pillows behind your back, maybe a snack nearby? Heaven.

Let your body rest—and let your baby feast!
